sato build assistance

By stev, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

Im working on sato again and this time im not to sure on fighter composition and upgrades

my work in progress atm is

Faction: Rebel Alliance
Points: 399/400

Commander: Commander Sato

Assault Objective: Most Wanted
Defense Objective: Planetary Ion Cannon
Navigation Objective: Solar Corona

MC30c Scout Frigate (69 points)
- Admonition ( 8 points)
- Ordnance Experts ( 4 points)
- Assault Proton Torpedoes ( 5 points)
= 86 total ship cost

Nebulon-B Support Refit (51 points)
- Salvation ( 7 points)
- Spinal Armament ( 9 points)
= 67 total ship cost

GR-75 Combat Retrofits (24 points)
- Bright Hope ( 2 points)
- Comms Net ( 2 points)
= 28 total ship cost

[ flagship ] Assault Frigate Mark II B (72 points)
- Commander Sato ( 32 points)
- Raymus Antilles ( 7 points)
- Gunnery Team ( 7 points)
- Boosted Comms ( 4 points)
- Electronic Countermeasures ( 7 points)
= 129 total ship cost

1 Tycho Celchu ( 16 points)
1 Shara Bey ( 17 points)
1 Han Solo ( 26 points)
1 "Dutch" Vander ( 16 points)
2 Z-95 Headhunter Squadrons ( 14 points)

my thought is to use han solo as good fighter if i get 2nd player

Why not TRC on salvation?

it's a pretty good list. Having APTs proc at long range is awesome, so is Satovation. Han and Tycho will make sure you get the Sato effect, while the rest of your fighter screen makes sure the bomber wing won't bother you too much.

I went a bit more bomber heavy in my own list for Sato, but yours is just as functionnal.

in your case, spinal armament is not needed on salvation IMO. Either get DTT, Intel officer for the brace token, or TRC for the red dice that will probably roll blank if you have my luck.

What's DTT? I don't see that on the sheet of Acronyms lol

Dual Turbolaser Turrets

It is in the Imperial Light Cruiser expansion - Wave 5

Dual Turbolaser turrets. Let's you roll another red die, but you have to remove a die. If you get any blanks, it's worth it.

How does APT proc at long range here? He still needs to roll the black die for it to work, which is close range only?

Commander Sato is the lynchpin of the Tactic.

Im little scared to use TRC due to i feel like i will need the evade to keep salvation alive though DTT might be good role and allow better upgrade somewhere else

DTT is the jack of all trades of turbolaser upgrades. You need one that doesn't cost too many points and is always useful? DTT is your guy.

updated fleet also what are your guys thoughts on the objectives and do you think gunnery teams are best upgrade here or would like x17 be better

looks good to me. What's your experience with slicer tools? They look too costly to me, but if you had good experiences with them before, sure, use them! Otherwise I'd spend the points on XI-7 or another DTT on your assault frigate.

i havent used it much to be honest but slicer tools looks like fun :)

Also do the objectives look solid?

Planetary Ion Cannon is not that great unless you can put your opponent on more than 1 token, but if you can it's pretty good.. Otherwise, solid choices.

Yellow objectives are always the hardest ones cause they are not super amazing

I love yellow objectives, I managed to grab 17 out of 18 fire lanes tokens yesterday that got me a 10-1. It is the blue objectives I always struggle with.

Slicer tools are fantastic. Shuts carriers down, so hard. You'll probably wind up losing whatever Flotilla is going after a large base ship, but the sacrifice is so worth it. Especially in a list that doesn't want an opponent to shut down your fighter screen. It's also useful against ships that need to navigate or repair.

I want to say thank you for everyone who is helping me here :)

Still debating on objectives just don't know which ones synergies best here.

how about hyperspace assault? I was thinking of dropping a '30 and green squad awing behind a primary target with a squad dial so the green bomber can hit it and enable Sato for everyone. then shoot it up with the '30s APTs.

I like most wanted and solar corona as they give me all the decisions and advantage, but there isn't a clear choice (as said above) for the other.
