Part of the issue there is people constantly making new threads for things, even when there is already basically the same thread on the first page. Tons of people want to propose Armada rules changes, for instance, but can't just contribute to one of the threads already in existence on the topic. They just have to create a new one.

Another thing I might support is a subforum for people who want to complain about the game, or have special fixes that would prevent Armada from dying.
I think it's a good thing for the community to force the casual crowd to rub shoulders with the competitive players. The competitive types need reminding from time to time that theirs isn't the only way to play the game. I think segregating the community based on style of play would only be harmful.
