Biggs' Balancing Bonanza!

By kitandthevoices, in X-Wing

So because the design team didn't release things that would make Biggs OP he's not a problem?

The fact that the design team has referenced him multiple times as a problem is THE problem with Biggs. We don't know what design space he's blocked off; they do know and don't like it.

I think stress shut down could work. You could also make his ability take an action or require him to spend a token, automatically takes 1 damage ala Xizor... lots of options and I'm for whichever one opens up the most design space for him.

Or to completely rewrite his text (in a theoretical x wing 2.0 situation) have him be able to soak one damage away from attacks targeting friendly ships, friendly ships within one count as obstructed, takes damage if those obstructed attacks miss etc

I could never support a nerf for Biggs unless his ability worked only for small based ships. The fact that most T-65 based squads generally incorporate him just to survive into the next round of shooting says a lot about how terrible the frame is in the current meta. I literally have to take a ship that is designed to die first on purpose just to make sure the others get a shot. I would rather have the option to take a squad of T-65s where having Biggs is irrelevant instead of having to rely on him.

Perhaps this is an issue with the designers just as much as it is an issue with Biggs. The designers seem to be so laser focused on how things interact with Biggs or whatever problem pilots/upgrades they have in mind, things like the x7 title and Manaroo somehow get printed while their head is turned in the completely wrong direction. I would almost go as far as to say that Manaroo needs the "Biggs" treatment moreso than Biggs does now.

Just because they missed one interaction doesn't mean they can't keep eyes on the other. They can do both and I'm glad they're keeping those Rebel Scum in check.

If the designers really keep referring to biggs as a problem after releasing kanan, a complete badass pf a ship that also synergizes heavily with Biggs, then they really have no clue what theyre doing or have less influence than we would imagine

And heaver doesnt seem to weigh his own words, much considering neither fat han nor poe gave two ***** about mr great stache

In fact, the rebellion has plenty of self sufficient ships that just dont care. Corran, miranda, dash, rey and poe and generic Wardens are all good examples

Which shpuld show the designers have had no problem releasing defensively capable ships regardless of his supposed influence

Biggs offers good control but he simply isnt an issue if you think about things rationally

Only way he could be a problem is if Xs got an x7 title or something stupid

This just in: people who design the game don't have any influence in designing the game

Simple, first ban Biggs. Then give Rebels old ships some small boost.

With Biggs banned, there will be more design room for X Wing to release stronger Rebel ships. Balance will be achieved in a couple of waves.

There's precedence in other games, at least the successful ones do.
