So like many I saw the new XP for the app was released and was excited. I went to buy a copy since I don't own it and found everyone was either sold out or the price had skyrocked. FFG also said it was unavailable on their store too. Non of my local FLGS sell descent. Which is a bummer. Anyone else experience this too?
Price Hikes and Sold out
I was lucky enough to grab shadows as part of my original purchase (I got the core, a little box, a big box + a H&M and lieutenant pack at the same time)
Since that however, I've been into over a dozen flgs's and I've not seen a single piece of descent. Retailers always tell me RTL emptied there stock and suppliers are dry. It's very sad, and I almost certainly would have bought £100+ worth of stuff by now if it was available. FFG just don't seem interested in getting stock levels back up with suppliers. Maybe descent isn't seen as a priority by Asmodee? I dunno.

Stuff being sold out right after christmas is really not a shocker. There was plenty of Descent to be bought before the holidays. Whatever you do, please don't feed the price gougers. More stock will eventually be made available.
I think it just takes a lot of time before
1) somethings sells out
2) FFG thinks that the reprint will also sell out
3) Print and distribution.
Isn't in stock on the FFG website right now? (I checked and could add it to shopping cart)
I ordered SoN from my FLGS yesterday. They said it was in stock and would arrive Friday. It appears to be in stock on this website as well. The base game is out of stock, but that's not such a big surprise right after Christmas.
And to think of all the grief I took for buying ALL of Descent 2nd Ed. last year 
Amazon is showing that they'll get more Descent Second Edition: Shadow of Nerekhall Expansion on jan. 23.
Yeah there must have been a glitch when I checked FFG's store yesterday. I see it today.
A reprint of the Core set is on the boat, no doubt they ordered more once the RtL app became a hit. I would expect other expansions to get the same treatment if things continue to expand. Hopefully this is a good sign that the game is successful and it (both the app and board game) will continue to be supported.
It also looks like Spligg is set for a reprint. I had the exact same concern... I just got into Descent and am loving it and then I see that a lot of the content isn't available. I really hope this is just the FLGS' having low stock after Christmas.
