My base building improvements & bonusses

The players can build a base. Mainly the missions that they complete unlocks a feature. The cost to unluck depends on the succes of the previous missions: if they make the right choices and the mission is a great succes, it will cost nothing since the negotiation with an invester went great, or in a mini-quest they managed to free a powerful investor.

One tree the players can improve is 'Defense'.

I'd like to have 16 possible improvements, of which the player will be able to install 8.

Each improvement gives a bonus to the base, aswell as an asset to the players. I need you to help me:

For example

1. Install security camera's in the base which can be operated from a central control room
- Extra bonus: find the right asset at the right time: increasing the chance to have a droid available for a mission with 10%
(Players can unlock droids to assist them on a mission, at the beginning of a mission i roll 1d100 to see if they can have a droid to go with them. With this bonus the chance of getting the droid is increased with 10%)

I need stuff like this, i need you for inspiration.

Check the sourcebook Desperate Allies. It has details on building and modifying a base.

Have you checked Far Horizons and Special Modifications (Edge of the Empire) for the upgrades there? That could be of some use as those two books would probably be used to help flesh otu some ideas for character in an AoR campaign.

Do your players each have a Duty? If they perform well in regards to that Duty, you can reward them with a discount or easy access (easier Negotiation roll) to an upgrade. As far as the improvements go, the ones listed in Desparate Allies are pretty good. If you wanted additional enhancements from them, you should come up with a list of in-book improvements that you want to be available to your players. That would make it easier to help you come up with something.
