I'm thinking of running this setup on Thursday and want to get my head clear on the timings.

So i shoot first with VI Han and roll say 2 hits and a focus, i want to miss so re roll all of them in the hope of missing.

Defender then rolls defense dice and has to spend his focus therefore (hopefully) missing the shot

Baze then Procs allowing me to target another ship and do the same to them.

Am i reading it right? if my memory serves i roll then re roll on the timing chart then the defender rolls/rerolls then the modify dice step kicks in (spending the focus)

seems like it could be quite fun to do and could be a bit of a headache for my opponent. (plus the deterent of attacking it and having to spend the focus token)

Yes, this works, but you probably need to take another glance over the timing chart to make sure you're doing the steps in the right order.

Also note that the defender has to spend his focus token regardless of whether it helps, or indeed, of whether he has any eyeballs.

You can throw all blanks on your reds and he still has to spend it.

I don't have the points for Gunner. in the list i'm looking at (I'm at 200 pts for a 200 pt game) I'm hoping to just run Han as a bit of Tanky interference as i have some ordnance carriers (and other turrets) to pick on one or two ships a turn. unmodified defense dice are great.

i would run it on something cheaper but don't have anything i can use with a PS high enough that has 2 crew slots.
