I think FFG really missed the boat by not providing a dice storage option. The four bags they have made in the past and that are "awaiting reprint" would have sold like hotcakes, but they also could have also gone further and made bags that would have catered even better to the game. Merely offering the existing designs in bags of the four die colors would have been perfect. I know I would have purchased multiple bags, as I don't have a storage solution better than boxes right now. As it is, it looks like I may be heading towards plastic trays ones they come out.
Edited by RookiePilotWhere are the dice bags?
Give it time. The game has been out for about a month and a half. Many people still can't get enough cards/dice to play yet. The peripherals market will catch up soon enough. That said, I'm looking forward to getting more swag like dice bags and official playmats.
Besides you are going to need a backpack with all the dice you'll end up with.
Go to the Star Wars Accessories down to bags and there are several there.
Get one of these Xenoguard 200+ cases - holds 2 decks and all the dice for each, PLUS tokens, and they are magnetized! So nice!
I don't think dice bags are the optimal way to transport these dice. They say they are scratch resistant but having them bang around against each inside a bag where they are stored all loosey goosey. I don't know about that.
that dice tray looks a little small told hold "all the dice for 2 decks"

I got them too and its true 2 decks with dice are no problem. You have to take out the little drawers.
In that tray meant for dice you use to hold the various game tokens. In each compartment designed to hold 100 cards you can instead hold 33 cards and the dice for one deck.
I'm using a Dex Dualist box to hold my play deck, and it is fine for the task. I'm struggling to organize all the stuff I'm not using at any given time so that building new decks is as easy as possible. I think zen bin is working on stackable trays that hold cards and dice so you can see exactly where everything is in destiny dice size. Here's the Dicemaster version:
This just might do the trick, but I'd need enough to seperate dice by faction and color. And, they're not available yet.
I'm using a Plano tackle box. I have no idea the exact number of dice it holds, but it seems to be enough for my collection at the moment. I can also store decks with it, but the majority of my cards are just in a binder.
My worry with a dice bag would just be all the jiggling around and potential for the dice to get nicked or damaged.
I've had my dice stored in a giant plano from the beginning, and despite being careful and not shaking it around much several of my dice have still gotten jacked up.
I just stick 'em in one of those cardboard card boxes that LGS's sell to store Pokémon. 12 dice are the same size as a card, so they fit in the rows nice and snug. It's a pain when I want to get the dice out, but I have 'enough sorted by wave, so it's not that hard to find the one I'm looking for.
Edited by KieransiFixed some stuff spellcheck "fixed"...
Interesting timing. I had a restock alert on the FFG dice bags over on Miniature Market, and theey somehow just got some more in stock. They're already out of the Rebel bags, but there are still some of the others... For now.
I actually moved on to a whole different storage scheme. I'll post pics when I have time to take them.
Flambeau Tackle Tuff Tainer Tackle Boxes with 4 Fixed Compartment

This is perfect for mass storage. Holds cards/decks perfectly and can store 24 dice per compartment.
I was looking for something that wouldn't allow the dice to rattle around, and still be easy enough to retrieve the ones I needed when deck building. Here's my overall solution:
The Feldherr Foam protects all sides of the dice and they are still easily retrievable. Plus, with everything sorted I can quickly find the die I am looking for:
Especially when the dice are ordered in the same order as the cards. The Z-Folio is a great companion since it is four pockets wide per page. I think most of us tend to collect in multiples of two. Plus they zip shut to keep everything safe:
And, finally, for my decks I use the Dexx Dualist. With a small plastic jewelry container to hold tokens along with my deck, that gives a whole side for the dice. They fit 2 X 3 with very little room for movement (except for the top layer when the deck doesn't have exact multiples of six dice). Everything but a mat needed to play at a moments notice:
@RookiePilot , did you seriously buy two saga sets?
Awesome arrangement! Looks really classy!
No, I did it the hard way, through boxes, boosters and trading.
Oh, ok! That's what I've done too... Any reason you specifically have four of everything? Completionism?
Hello, I'm Rookie Pilot and I'm a Star Wars addict.
I originally set out to have enough cards to make any four decks. That snowballed a little.
@Rookie Pilot How many rows of trays does that bag hold? I saw one online that looked like it held 5. I was curious if that was the bag you had and if there was a larger bag you could get to hold more trays.
Thanks in advance.
@Aydos Feldherr sells a variety of different size bags. Their big bag will hold a dozen of those foam trays. You'll probably have to order the foam and bag separate, although you might be able to get them to cut you a deal if you order direct with them for a big bag and foam.
I am not sure if these are in the US just yet. I usually takes 3-4 months for them to stock their stuff on amazon.
The Feldherr Mini Plus case, which I have, holds five Destiny dice trays, for a total of 200 dice. They still aren't available yet on Amazon, although Mini Cases with other tray types are. Like Mep indicated, I am sure it is only a matter of time before they show up there. I preordered the ones I have directly from Feldherr's site.
