Is Rieekan good for corellian conflict?

By kila, in Star Wars: Armada Fleet Builds

X-wings draw fire from Y-wings and split it equally, Jan Ors gives freedom of movement. Bright hope and Yavaris move around giving squadron commands, torpedo frigates dive into the middle of enemy fleet. The corvette is used for ramming.

Im not an experienced player, what am I missing? Obvious shortcomings? Other than not quite enough carriers...

Advice appreciated!

Commander: General Rieekan

Nebulon-B Escort Frigate (57 points)

CR90 Corvette B (39 points)
- Engine Techs ( 8 points)
= 47 total ship cost

1 Jan Ors ( 19 points)
1 Luke Skywalker ( 20 points)
1 Wedge Antilles ( 19 points)
1 Biggs Darklighter ( 19 points)
1 Gold Squadron ( 12 points)

Carriers are fine. Yavaris and Bright Hope can bank squadron tokens for turn 1 to throw all 6 squadrons into action turn 2.

You could change the CR90B to a CR90A with TRCs, downgrade Wedge to a regular X-Wing and change Gold into Rogue squadron.

Watch out for Fleet ambush. When an inexperienced player it can bite back. If you face 2 ISDs and 2 flotillas it can be your fleet that gets jumped first turn. Planetary ion Cannon, Hyperspace assault or Solar corona may be safer.

Cheers, I can see that a CR90A with TRC would pack some punch, but I really like the idea of Wedge+luke+Biggs flying together :-) I'm a fool for thematics... but if I could squeeze 4 more points from this starting fleet (now at 399 points), I could afford to change the B-corvette to A-corvette and buy the TRC later in the campaign.

Objectives are not given that much thought as this is going to be mainly for Corellian Conflict campaign, where the objectives depend on campaign location.

To play CC as Rieekan, read up on hyperspace retreat. It's been questioned, but seems to read that you can retreat a destroyed Rieekan ship without getting scarred, as long as it happens the same round.

Thanks, I hadn't thought of that. I have to check with the campaign organiser how we deal with this since there is no official ruling about it.

It works. Scar is end of status phase. HS retreat is start.

They prob make a faq clarification that it works because the wording is specific. Start vs end.
