Buying Imperial

By SPE825, in Imperial Assault Skirmish

I've only played a couple of skirmish games. But, I like playing Imperial and am thinking of buying some more things to play Imperial competitively. With the recent changes to scoring, it seems like buying towards a trooper list is no longer a great idea. So, what expansions should I buy to play Imperial at this point?

I have the core, Hoth and Twin Shadows. But, I have none of the blister expansions. I'm not really sure what's competitive for Imperials.

Do you have someone you can borrow cards from? If so, you can play General Sorin's New Droid Army for only a few figure packs:

Sorin's New Droid Army (0/0/40)

===============================

[8] General Sorin

[1] Advanced Com Systems

[1] Temporary Alliance

[8] HK Assassin Droid

[8] HK Assassin Droid

[5] Elite Probe Droid

[5] Elite Probe Droid

[2] Imperial Officer

[1] Rule by Fear

[1] Zillo Technique

-------------------

You'll need Sorin, Grand Inquisitor for the Advanced Coms System, Kayn Somos for Rule By Fear, and Blaise for Zillo Technique.

There are no "Must Have" command cards except maybe Negation. The rest is up to you.

It's hard to say. Troopers will still be good in some way (hard to say about non-imperial ones).

Dewbacks are great. Jet Troopers from Jabba's Palace seem strong.

There will be some new droids coming as well. And don't forget you can mix in Merc units too like Bossk or Nexu or whatever.

The answer to "what's competitive" is literally impossible right now. We're still in the middle of a Regionals season, straight after a whole new wave which shook up the meta, and today we got final word on an arguably even bigger change.

It's way too early to say what will and won't be competitive one month from now.

My gut says we'll see more 2 figure groups like Heavies and Jet Troopers, Dewbacks will be very common and possibly more droid. Possibly more heroes like Sorin, RGC, Agent Blaise. But it's too early to tell
