A couple of Qs

By Vergilius, in Star Wars: Armada Rules Questions

If I missed something, let me know, but we had a couple of Qs come up in some Correlian Conflict Games.

1. If a side wins a special assault, do the resources go into the team pool that is divided evenly or can they be allotted as the side sees fit? I couldn't see anything definitively, just a bare implication that it makes sense that they get divided with the rest of the resources evenly.

2. Crash's Drift: Is the Green mark meant to be an extension of the Hyperlane, or is it more of a map mark? I've now seen it played both ways.

Of course, being CC, this is my opinion only, rather than hard and course rules:

1) Resources are gained by the team (according to the card), and the only mechanic we have for dividing resources is "as evenly as possible, with the Grand Admiral deciding on the leftover point(s)."... So I'd go with that. Lump them in the Resource Pool and Divide away.

But as its not income, I'm sure you could house-rule to deliver the crates of resources where the team feels fit to....

2) Its the Corellian Run Hyperlane - it extends through the corellian system and "out both ends"

Resources from special assault get divided up with the rest. Otherwise it can lead to someone having a 500 points fleet at turn two and everyone else at 440.

And yes i took crash drift as being on a hyperlane

Perfect thanks!

Just looking at these Objectives in preparation for the start of our CC this week.

I am slightly confused by the resource allocation as per Q1 in the OP.

Show of Force: The second player gains 1 victory token for each unarmed station that is not destroyed. The first player gains 1 victory token and his team gains 40 resource points for each station that is destroyed. The winner's team also gains 40 resource points if he wins the game. '20'

Hyperlane Raid: The second player gains 1 victory token for each ship (not squadron) with an objective token within 2 range ruler lengths of the first player's edge. The first player's team gains 20 resource points per victory token he gained. The winner's team also gains 40 resource points. '15'

So it appears that resources are allocated differently - some go to the player some go to the team. Also the points value of the Hyperlane Raid victory tokens differ depending upon whether you are first or second player. Is that right?

Examples:

Show of Force- Imperials win the game and destroy one station. Imperial player gains 20 resource points from their victory token and the Imperial team gain 80 resource points (40 from the victory token and 40 from the win). The Rebel player gains 20 resource points from their victory token.

Hyperlane Raid- Imperials win the game and have 1 ship and 1 squadron with an objective token within 2 rulers of the Rebel edge and the Rebels have destroyed two ships with objective tokens. Imperial player gains 15 resource points for the victory token on the ship and zero from the one on the squadron and the Imperial team gains 40 resource points. The Rebel player's team gains 40 resource points from their 2 victory tokens.

That's how it works reading the cards. Am I missing something?

Victory tokens don't give resources. They only give victory points. So, based on the wording of the card as you have reproduced it, all resources go to the team.

This is wrong.

BOTH OBJECTIVES: the winner gets 40 resources (for his team).

SHOW OF FORCE: Imps get 40 resources per station destroyed AND VP. Rebels only get VP.

HYPERLANE RAID: Rebs get 20 resources per token AND VP. Imps only get VP.

Sp both sides can score an equal amount of VPs on the objective, but only the side whose special assault it is can gain the full 120 resources. The other side can gain no more than 40 resources.

Deleted due to realising my idiocy!

Got it now - the victory tokens give the victory points listed on the objective TO HELP DETERMINE THE WINNER (like normal objectives!). I was getting confused with resource points.

Yes GK, thank you, you are correct.

So, tokens = points that go towards determining the winner and the team gains resources equal to whatever the card says. Simple really, doh!

Where I was getting confused was that sentence on HR " The first player's team gains 20 resource points per victory token he gained." what it should have said is " The first player gains 1 victory token and his team gains 20 resource points per victory token he gained."
