Defenders are easy to paint

By Lord Ashram, in Star Wars: Armada Painting and Modification

You know, I was anxious to start them... Given what a pain in the ass regular TIE fighters are, I figured the Defenders would be a lot worse. But they really aren't! I've been pleasantly surprised at how easy they are to paint... Nice raised details help out.

Anyone else find this to be the case too?

Ha! Yes, I've mentioned before I was dreading them, but they they were really quite easy to do, the decent mold of the panels helped.

This! They were no where near as bad as I thought they'd be either.

I still find them obnoxious. Y'know from a painting perspective.

I'd paint a Defender over a regular TIE seven days a week, and twice on Sunday. No reverse panels with no raised detail, there aren't fifteen thousand lines on the solar panels... Ugh.

Theres the difference, I leave my interior panels one solid color on the line fighters. F that noise.

Smart man... but I find it is just SO noticeable that I cannot avoid it:(

I painted up some Defenders, btw... I'll post when I am home. I think they turned out rather sharp!

Less talk, more pictures guys! Here are mine:

Yep, I decided early on that was a one way street to Frustrationville

I try to give people more than what they pay for :)

General rule of thumb is better models are easier to paint (and the new batch of squads are much better than the old). More detail available is also easier to paint, you just need to do less actual work.

Easy to Paint.

Pain in the Arse to Clean up beforehand.

Pain the Arse to Photograph when done :D

They are a paint to paint if you're going 100% on the panels and lines.
