Tie/SF Lists

By Necronsis, in X-Wing Squad Lists

So right now I am debating between 3 Tie/SF Lists, was wondering which one was the best one and what improvements could be made.

Lightweight frame and sensor jammer looks like a good combo. Maybe an offensive EPT like predator or even outmaneuver?

I would have to drop something at that point, as predator and outmaneuver are 3 points.

In the defensive squad I'd recommend Draw their fire as the ept of choice.

I ran this with Backdraft made him quite durable. I worry about the 2 agility on the SF, makes them a nice target.

I like the four ship list more. basically four 3/3/3/3 ships. That is kinda scary if you think about it.

I'd agree. Draw Their Fire allows you to pull a hit off a Zeta Specialist onto Quickdraw - who can then respond by shooting someone.

Given the amount of red on a TIE/sf's dial, Wired might be another good option - giving you (limited) rerolls of both red and green dice.

On the offensive squad, I'd be tempted to drop the accuracy correctors and try to build backdraft's wingmen as missile boats - crack shot homing missiles and guidance chips may make them more vulnerable, but you're not trying to have them survive, just make sure they take enough with them to give backdraft a favourable endgame.

Agreed.

Four Blue Squadron Novices are much the same theory - the TIE/sf fighters have the advantage of PS3, and replace boost with barrel roll, but a hit point less and a slightly worse dial (allowing for R2 astromech).

The one thing I'd suggest - since (hopefully) every member of the squad is shooting, but only one is being shot at, I'd consider taking Fire Control Systems rather than Lightweight Frames on the four ships.

Backdraft/frame/jammer/lone wolf/sensor cluster is surprisingly tough to take down, or alternatively Pattern Analyser for driving through debris and/or doing red moves.

"Backdraft" (37) - TIE/SF Fighter

Expertise (4), Fire Control System (2), Sensor Cluster (2), Special Ops Training (0), Lightweight Frame (2)

The Inquisitor (31) - TIE Adv. Prototype

Push The Limit (3), TIE/v1 (1), Autothrusters (2)

Captain Yorr (32) - Lambda-Class Shuttle

Collision Detector (0), Emperor Palpatine (8), Emperor Palpatine (8)

I've been running this and now am 7-2 with it. Only games I've lost are against bombing k-wings. Backdraft is a beast with that load out and Yorr in the list.

I actually ran a version of backdraft with accuracy corrector and flew him 'backwards'; it meant every time I shot from the rear arc, I'm getting 2 hits and a crit all the time. It was really annoying for my oppenent.

Doesn't Accuracy corrector negate his ability to add a crit, as the dice cannot be modified and adding a crit result is a modification?

honestly should be your first and often only upgrade purchase

not counting title for stupidly obvious reasons

VI is also really good on Backdraft

you can try to load them with defensive stuff, but they're still just gonna pop with pathetic ease (exceptional luck excepted). Only way to have them last is to fly well with the aux arc

That looks AWESOME! I have to get a U-wing, there's no question about it now. Especially since I have that sweet custom alt art Jyn Erso crew and Cassian Andor ship card. By the way, were you the one I faced at the doubles tournament Saturday? (I was running Jan Ors and Snap Wexley while my partner ran the Inquisitor and Maarek Stele defender, landing second place.) If not, then word must get around fast that what you have there is an excellent squad.

Yep that was me! I'm hoping I sneak this list into Top 8 at Kashyyyk and surprise everyone. First list I've run since regionals that I feel good about. Backdraft has been like my favorite ship since I started running that load out on him, only thing I would consider changing is Sensor Cluster, but haven't got a good replacement for it.

Accuracy Corrector and Backdraft' ability do not work together

Checked the FAQ, pg 13. You are correct, egg on face :/

Got blown out that game anyways, so serves me right...
