So, I don't have Rage yet (Never got around to buying the Jumpmaster). I'm looking for a cheap EPT to toss on Ezra, and stumbled across Elusiveness. Seems like it'd make a natural choice for Ezra, to trigger his defensive pilot ability. Has anyone tried this combo before? What do you think? For 22 points, is it worth it over a generic B-Wing or an X-Wing with an R2 astromech?
Ezra With Elusiveness?
I flew against this last Sunday, it seemed to work really well!
I ran Ezra with elusiveness, chewie and abt in the fall at the Toronto regional and I managed to make the top 4 (about 100 players). he is incredibly annoying to kill with this setup.
The problem is you can only utilise it once per turn maximum and then you are on to the greens if you want to use it again (admittedly this is true of most self-stressing EPTs). But you only have a 50% chance of negating a single hit. I guess it has the advantage that you can trigger it when you need it.

In the squad I'm running it in, Ezra is the least threatening target (Flying alongside Wes and Keyan Farlander). I really doubt he'll be getting shot at much over the other two, so surviving just a single shot every now and then is really all he needs. Then if he survives into late game, hopefully his durability will allow him to take down any remaining damaged enemy ships. Or at least, that's the goal. I wound up tossing Kyle Katarn on him as well, that way he can evade every turn and still have a focus for offense from shedding the stress from the previous turn.
Yeah it's good when Ezra isn't the biggest threat in the list like Underachiever stated. It's like how the lonely Academy Pilot or Bandit can survive a lot of games. Then Ezra has the dice mods for one on one situations.
So, having now played a couple games with this, I have decided that Ezra with Elusiveness is definitely worth his points. Especially when he has Kyle Katarn riding shotgun.
Wes Janson - 29 points
- R3 Astromech - 2 points

- Integrated Astromech - 0 points
- Total - 33 points
Keyan Farlander - 29 points

- Opportunist - 4 points
- Fire Control System - 2 points
- Total - 42 points
Ezra Bridger - 20 points
- Elusiveness - 2 points
- Kyle Katarn - 3 points

So far, I've only tested this out against Commonwealth Defenders. Ryad with PTL and Vessery with Determination, both with x7 and Twin Ion Engine, backed by a Palp shuttle. In all three games, I ended up winning with this list. In two out of three, I managed to destroy the Palp shuttle on the first round of combat. Also in two out of three of the games, Ezra survived until the end of the game. In the first game, the Defenders made the mistake of trying to focus down Ezra, who proved to be extremely resilient, lasting three turns of concentrated fire from the Defenders while Wes and Keyan wiped out the Lambda, then knocked all of Ryad's shields off. By the time Ezra finally died, Ryad had no chance of surviving the next round, and I managed to bring down Vessery in one round of fire. The next two games, the Defenders rightfully tried to attack Keyan and Wes. Ezra made an effective and durable blocker, helping the surviveability of Wes and Keyan, while Keyan blasted his way through everything that wound up in his arc. It was a lot of fun.
