I'm sure this is nothing new to most of you, but I'm not very good at this game and am just getting some of the later waves. I just thought I'd share at my excitement, because since it has come out, the best I ever hoped to do against an ISD was win by objective points and taking out the other ships. I ran the liberty class for my first time along with two Neb-Bs. I lost both frigates by the end, but the giant went down in round 5! I still lost the game due to objectives, but I felt like a winner for finally seeing one of the things blow up.
Finally killed an ISD (with Motti even!)
ahah I know the feeling. You know what helps with ISDs? Planetary Ion Cannons. In my last match, the ISD took 16 damage total from a single token and died on round 6, resulting on Demo also dying because it was on 5 damage cards!
They are strong! But not Invincible.
One thing that always help is to keep focus on it and turn off that brace ![]()

Can you explain, given that they only can due 4 dmg a turn, so unless they guy sat on the token at speed zero i ha e questiom

People are also getting confused between the Corellian Confict Base Defense: Ion Cannon, and the Planetary Ion objective.
In the standard Yellow Planetary Ion Cannon objective, you have to Discard the Token to Use it.
(Base Defense: Planetary Ion Cannon doesn't discard, so the tokens can be reused over and over).

not speed zero, speed 1. And yes, that was 5 turns of sitting in token range (range 1-3 is a LOT for large base ships)
Edited by SybreedFrom my experience, fighters are the bane of large capital ships because they are immune to the ISD's scary batteries and do enough small attacks to overwhelm and confuse defensive tokens. Nora Wexley and a bomber crew in particular will strip an ISD's shields quickly, along with massed VT attacks.
I remember the satisfaction of using turbolaser sledgehammers to crush ships though. An ISD and two VSD-IIs were my list right after Massing at Sullust, and I enjoyed exchanging turbolaser fire with worthy battleships to see who could out-dice one another.
Before the dark times... before Ackbar.
Did hyperspace assault
ISD was at full strenght, shoot with my two mc30 scouts with OE and APT.
The rounds started with both mc30 point. Lank on the ISD, one in it front arc and on on it side, both had double arc.
1st one goes and gets black crit and trc for two red. The apt give him the dmg card that lets me change his speed by 1 or reset command dial. As he was at speed 1 i dropped him to zero. He redirected the two damage. 2nd shot side arc to side arc, 6 dmg and APT again so really 7,so drop the side shield 2 plus apt goes though, he at 4 out of 14. Crit was he couldnt use acc or something.
He goes and my mc30 survives yhe front arc, he can change his speed due to. O nav commamd or token, my little mc30 has dual side arc on his front. Get 7 damage, four to shield, 3 face down and the apt face up. So 8 out of 14. Second shot and get the six dmg need to pop the ISD.

Uh-oh.
Guess which one I read first and which one I assumed was the same as the first?
I guess I owe apologies and a victory to someone.
Edit: Man, FFG should underline these subtle but so important differences xD
Edited by SybreedAs I mentioned, its a very common mistake
Congratulations wired now that you've done it once you'll find you've developed a taste for burning down your opponent's big ships. Sometimes it's almost as good as winning

Ah yes, I forgot to mention that Luke did his fair share.
Ah yes, I forgot to mention that Luke did his fair share.
I can't hit anything with Luke without a bomber command centre being nearby. Blank faces, every time.

That seems to be everyone's experience with Luke... how much he's failed to actually use his ability. I'm curious if people are having more success with him now that Bomber Command Centers exist in the universe now.
When Han said that Luke's shot was 'one in a million', it's not that the exhaust port was hard to hit.... the ol' smuggler had just seen Luke throw dice before.
Ive used Luke along with 2 BC flots, one of which had Adar Tallon on board. As close as can be to guaranteed damage. Also good fun with Nym.

Luke, Adar, yav. OMNOMNOMNOM.
@Wired4War, it gets easier everytime. Now you know how much you have to commit to take an isd. Good work.

EDIT: and you can't shoot with the three tokens in the same round.
EDIT 2: sorry. This already came up. Ignore me. I would swear I read all the answers. I must be more careful reading ![]()

I love this comment so much.
(I would never gamble with Solo. Never.)
