I have a question about Backup Muscle;

When I choose to play 1 of 3 damage off it, is the 1 damage being resolved considered a separate action or can it be resolved the at same time as Ranged OR Melee dice that are being resolved?

Backup Muscle is an Action in and of itself. On your turn you take an action. This could be to resolve dice OR to us a card with the Action header OR activate a character et cetera
