Corellian Conflict digital map

By chilligan, in Star Wars: Armada

Hey there,

I was going to take my CC map put in plastic or framed before we start playing the campaign, but I can't help but be disappointed that the print is coming off at the seams and I've only unfolded it once or twice! I would print it out in a heartbeat if it were available in digital format on a sturdier material. If I don't it will look pretty bad even if I frame it.

Any chance we'll get something like that from FFG? Or have you seen a good scan of the CC map anywhere?

I'm hoping to convince my wife to use her mad Photoshop skillz to make me a digital version, but late pregnancy is eating her brain.

One of the guys in my gaming group made one. I'll see if he wouldn't mind posting it.

Here you go. I feel like this is a bit closer to what i think is a more Star Wars style of map, w/out actually floating in the air.

Hope you enjoy it, please let me know if there are any typos.

I made a scan of mine, but I intend to keep that for personal use. I want to respect FFG's intellectual property.

I do intend to create a version for online use, but it will be a composite of several images layered over one another. That would also allow for the creation of other maps for other campaigns.

I really would of liked a app from ffg that held the map and let you share it with the other memebers of the campaign. So you can mark the differents planets held and such.

An app version of CC would be ideal.

I would definitely buy that. Great idea. Let's make it happen FFG!

I use the map in Vassal.

An app is a great idea for people playing at a local game store or similar. We have one map we are using for this campaign - obviously we can't all take it home with us, and we don't want to copy it onto our own maps because we'd quite like to play another campaign in future. An app would allow everyone to have a copy, and therefore easily discuss tactics at home.

The vassal map can be saved - either as save files that can be opened in vassal, or just exported to an image file and shared.

The vassal map can also track bases, assault locations and diplomats.

Edit: point is you don't have to play your battles on vassal, but it's a great tool for tracking the campaign.

At this point the clouds parted and the angels sang...

for some reason Vassal seems very difficult to start for me - even in Xwing.

But the map...the MAP!!

we can drag the little stickies to it, and save and track stuff!!

YAY VASSAL, I love you guys!!

So... I'm working on a web-based CC tracker. The caveat is, I'm using it as a learning project because I've never done web dev before so it's slow going. But it's in the works, if nothing better comes along first!

I've been thinking about putting the map in a Google Sheet so taht you can just drag and drop the stickers on top of the locations as needed. And keep track of things in the sheet.

It's no graphic representation. But here's what I'm using to help the Imperial team track the map:

I'll also briefly share our team worksheet. I may need to hide it in a few days. But for now, this is what I've made.

https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1M9wYfDruH1gI21KNY9XgTFnfq2cXYlBNkdMj5G-9AvA/edit?usp=sharing

In this second sheet I have several Tabs:

  • Team Status - This is the main sheet to track and display how the team is doing in the campaign.
  • Economics - Track owned systems here and the benefits they give.
  • Individual Fleet Sheets - List the fleet for each player
  • Systems Tracking - This is the excel version of the campaign map
  • Fleet Elements per Player - before the game starts, all players lay claim to the unique cards they need for their fleet.

Any feedback would be appreciated. My spreadsheet-fu isn't the best. :)

Same here. The final touches are almost on.

"Almost there....!"

Can you describe what you've built? I'm doing mine with .php and a MySQL database for the data. It creates a clickable map (created from a composite of scans), and two roster sheets. Additionally, there's a place for one of the Rebel players to write pro-Rebel nonsense propaganda. Thankfully, I have HNN to set the record straight.

Can we touch base about this when we play our WC match? I'm working on an physical map that uses LEDs to indicate information. It would be nice to hook it into an online tracking system. I have pretty basic requirements.

What do you guys think of this one:

I like it, though I'm not sure why Corellia and Drall are worth 20 campaign points...

SO YOU DON'T LOSE THEM. EVER.

I like it, though I'm not sure why Corellia and Drall are worth 20 campaign points...

I've altered the deal. Pray I don't alter it any further.

Aye.

Your numbers are off in a couple places Norsehound. Other than that, GREAT WORK! Makes some corrections, and it will be lovely (and used).

I'd also make the hyper-lanes stick out visually a bit more, and label them (as they actually serve a purpose in the game). Also, flesh out the key with a few more of the icons you used (for clarity).

Norse- that looks great! When you get it edited, can I talk you into letting me use it for our stream? If you had some icons for tokens, I can edit our game state in photoshop and include it. Would give credit, of course :)

Also, for those interested in map options. I framed my original map with one of these:

907881_1%5B5%5D.jpg

(it has a thin, clear plexi cover to protect the map)

And do mark-up on it using these:

efa3f33b-05ad-47ee-bfde-cec8249ba591_1.4

They mark very visibly, and erase easily on the frame's clear plastic.

It's a pretty cost effective solution. Just be aware that the way the frame assembles means you will fray the edges of your map a bit, probably in several places. It happened to me. Granted, if you never plan to take it back out of the frame (like myself), that's not any significant issue as long as you aren't completely ham-fisted with the assembly.

I'd give pictures of mine assembled (it's very pretty), but I have a crappy camera and poor lighting for photos.

I knew you would come in and create an awesome version, Norsehound. I really dig it because it feels like a SW UI.
