Is it time for a new trait?

In their recent interview with the Jodo Cast , Paul and Todd lamented the fact that they often have to peg miscellaneous Scum and Rebel figures without any better choices with the "Smuggler" trait because there aren't really any better traits for them. These figures, in my mind, include Skirmish Saska, Hired Gun, Ugnaught Tinkerer, and the recently revealed Jawas and Hera. What do almost all these figures have in common?

Mechanical aptitude.

I propose adding a new trait and FAQ-ing these figures to have that trait: Mechanic or Technician. If released correctly, a lot of new command cards and a few new units could successfully add this trait into the game in much the same way Scum were introduced to X-Wing. The command cards for this trait would interact with terminals and objectives and provide support roles such as applying a new Beneficial condition or imposing a new Harmful condition.

I also propose that R2-D2, Chewbacca, Farmboy Luke, IG-88, and Generals Sorin and Weiss also be granted this trait, if only for lore purposes.

I think a mechanic trait is definately a hole in the trait structure.

Though I don't think Luke would get that trait.

Mandalorian would make a good trait now that we have Shyla Verad. The tough part about this idea would be the lack of command cards for a new trait. Regardless of this, I still support the idea as it adds more variety to the game.

Farmboy Luke was portrayed as a tinkerer and always hung out in the shop. I figured it might be a thematic addition to him.

I'd love a mechanic trait.... but it's too late because of the examples you already listed.

I think it would have to be tied to the rollout of a big box expansion to be able to add the critical mass of new units and command cards needed to add such a large component to the game. Heck, maybe they could even include new cards for the FAQ'd units with the trait added so we wouldn't have to try to memorize who got the new trait added.

Engineer, that way they can shoehorn some imperials with the trait.

I like the smuggler trait for the figures you mentioned though
