Just so everyone knows, there are two encounter sets in the box that you don't use /yet/

There is a third that is a single player card that is used in the story, so don't worry.

Also as a heads up to everyone, the two scenarios do use encounter sets from the core. For anyone that bought four cores like me, rejoice, you can still keep everything pre-built. for those of you that have two core sets and the scenarios pre-built, you will have to rip a couple of things out.

I got the same four core sets, I'm wondering how long this will hold up.

Someone posted over one BGG that they were going to keep using sets from the core, but never between cycles, since you need the core to play any cycle. I have a feeling we'll have to start ripping from our set soon enough.

I'd need a source on that.

It follows logically. In an LCG, you never need any expansion. You need the Deluxe to play its associated Mythos Packs, but they shouldn't ever require you to own a Deluxe to play a different Deluxe. What if it's out of print or something prevents you from buying the Dunwich Cycle? You want new player to be unable to play until they can build up the full card pool?

They don't cite a source, so I'm going to take it as hearsay for right now. It'll be curious to see how liberally they use the core set in the next 6 mythos packs, because that alone might screw things up for me. Not that I can't adjust, it's just nice having everything put together ready to go.
