X-wing fix as part of a Campaign box. Good or bad idea?

3 campaign books ala DnD. Each with variety of upgrades for any ship, and pilots for the specific faction.

Faction specific campaigns would be cool.

I've been playing Armada's Corellian Conflict, and it's absolutely awesome. It's really what I've been wanting from FFG for many years now. It's also really energized my Armada community. It even drew one X-Wing player, who had previously given up on Armada, because he didn't want just another standard-play experience.

As stated before, if there is demand for Epic and campaign play then let folks speak with their wallets. If you include exclusive incentives for standard play in them then you inflate your sales numbers for these type of products. This doesn't necessarily mean their is a real demand for these type of ventures.

The inflated sales can give the company false impressions their is a significant demand for this type of product. As a result, the company would invest capital and time for a potential niche market. Where they otherwise could spend more capital and time in another aspect where it's more profitable and suits the interests of the majority of the community. Not just an outspoken niche market.

Am I stating the Epic and campaign are niche markets? No, I'm stating let them stand on their own to see the real demand for these products are.

I agree with this, if it means that they also put out the products to supply the products to which I can speak with my wallet.

It would also be awesome if they created some mechanics by which players can incorporate X-Wing (or Imperial Assault) missions into Armada's Corellian Conflict. Given Armada's greater scale, it seems like it is a better fit for campaign play, if campaign play is about the conquering of worlds. However, there's more to conquering worlds than just winning large naval engagements. (I'm trying to elicit ideas for that here.)

I want a team vs team campaign box for X-Wing. It can contain lots of new pilots/upgrades/fixes for standard play and then campaign only cards/mechanics.

I want that feeling Rogue Squadron from the N64 - you and your buddies all play as a crack team of pilots, you pick your ships and 'squad up' - you run missions, gain experience and 'buy' upgrades over the course of the campaign, all while playing a different meta game of trying to win missions, gain advantages on a campaign map and playing differently within games, trying to save your squad buddies etc.

And on the other side of the table are the no shields, all guts, Imperials doing the same thing.

Not sure how the destruction of ships would work though...

Another campaign for x wing would be a good addition, but kept separate from the competitive version. Aturi Cluster was fun but would have been much better with no AI and a player controlling the Imperial side, like the GM of Imperial Assault. Need to bring some characters and storyline to x wing. The standard competition gets old in a game that has so much modification potential. Mission Builder is fun for this purpose but vastly outdated. X Wing campaign series would be pretty cool. Space stations? Landscapes? Cityscapes? Multi-level cardboard pop-outs? Hmm...

Really? I have a much different perspective.. The entire reason HOTAC is awesome is because there is AI and you can play cooperatively with your friends.

You could always have a player fly the Imperials with HotAC.

We play HotAC with an Imperial "overlord" player. The Imperial player wears headphones with music (Imperial march!) during dial selection and dial selection is limited to two minutes. This allows for some but not perfect coordination between the Rebel players and the Imperial player plays somewhat sub-optimal due to the time constraint. Thie version plays much faster that with the AI. And personally i find it more satisfying to go against a human opponent ( "going against remotes is one thing etc")..

And yes: A Campaign box for X-wing would be fantastic - both to supply a fix to several ships and to bring some support for the casual, non-100/6 players. The Armada CC box is great in every way (except perhaps for the print quality of the map) and I would love something similar for X-wing..
