New Investigators From Dunwich Legacy Question

By chico2323, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

The new investigators state they are capable of using level 0 cards from any other "faction". Example: Zoey can use level 0-5 Guardian cards (and neutral cards) and level 0 cards from any other faction.

Question: Does this limit Zoey to a SINGLE other faction (of your choice) or she can take some level 0 cards from Survivor, then some level 0 cards from Mystic, then some level 0 cards from other "factions" as well?

You can pull those five cards from all the factions simultaneously.

You can take your pick from any 5 level 0 cards from any class.

Edit: I C supermarino beat me to it

The content of the official prebuilt decks strongly suggests you have to select a single secondary class from which up to 5 cards can be drawn. In their prebuilt decks, Zoey chooses cards from Mystic, Rex chooses Rogue, Jenny chooses Guardian, Jim Chooses Survivor, and Pete chooses Seeker.

The literal wording implies that you must select a class. "Any other class" is a singular construction in English, meaning that a singular "other class" is in mind.

Unfortunately, there are unambiguous wordings for both options:

Dedicated Second Class: "... up to 5 cards from any one other class."

Mix-and-Match interpretation "... up to 5 cards from other classes"

I've seen a post on Reddit indicating that the French translation is the second, so that certainly does not help matters.

It would be nice to get something official on this from designers.

It's official that's it is any 5 cards from any of the other classes. Mix-n-Match away!

Do you have a link?

I mean, there's the line from the No One's Perfect article at the end..

Like Zoey Samaras (The Dunwich Legacy, 1), whom we've seen earlier, each of the five investigators from The Dunwich Legacy features one primary class, then allows you to dabble with level zero cards from all the other classes.

I keep seeing mention of only being able to use 5 cards (at level 0) from each class. I can't seem to find this rule anywhere. Can someone point me in the direction of where in the rules this is clarified?

The deckbuilding restrictions & requirements on the back of the Dunwich Legacy Investigators state this. They are allowed to use a total of 5 level-0 cards from outside their primary class. Not 5 from each class.
