How many Friends does Blount need? Is there a sweet spot for him? Im thinking min 3 Zs to go with him maybe 5 high end? Anyone been playing with this yet?

I would love to try it but I don't see myself buying multiple packs of Rebel II. Isn't the rule of thumb make it an even number? 5+Blunt could be interesting. I love the cost for that. 49 points with 6 squads on the table, even the empire must be jealous!
I think if you are going to go Blount and actually invest in that reroll you'll end up having so spend some points on escorts like most do with Howl. Z95s are awesome just because they are so cheap and the damage potential. Right now I'm running 6 Z95s without Blount just as a screen and it's worked great. If I was going to run Blount I'd probably try to figure out some way to sneak in Jan and an X-Wing or two. Jan can really help the Z95s from being one shotted and an X-Wing means that your swarm of Z95s may just end up completely rolling over the enemy fighters. Make it a named X-Wing with Reeiken and lol to the bank.
Been on the receiving end of 3 Zs + Blount. They are predictably unpredictable. "0 hits. 0 hits. 4 damage and an accuracy. 1 damage" just all over the place ![]()
I'm thinking Blount and friends activated by a fighter controller, so that's total five with Assualt frigate ( token, expanded hanger) or four total with Liberty.
I would give then a supporting T Farr. With this each standard z95 will be rolling 3 red and a blue, with the ability to reroll two reds and a blue. That's very nasty. 35 points ( with 13 points on ship support) for 2 deployments, a scatter ace, 16 anti fighter dice with 11 re-rolls is not bad as very light cover or a component of a Biggs/jan xwing ball.
How good are Zs? The generics?
No one uses ties cuz they go pop so easily.
I use Ties...and I use Zs the same way. I run 6 of them in my Ackbar list just to tie up enemy fighters. They're cheap. Give you lots of bodies. they're cheap. They can put out goo damage. They're cheap.
It's a little harder setting up the initial engagement since they are slower than the 4 A-Wing I used to run but the two extra stands I can afford for less points mean I can tie up a fighter more effectively.
I have 4 Z's and i have yet to actually use them. I need to but i keep forgetting about them lol.
I dont see myself getting a third squad2 box though. I got it because i wanted 4 Ewings and i knew 2Z's were gonna be pointless. Originally wanted more than 2 VCX but im finding thats a bad idea to bring more than 2 of them lol
Not buying packs no matter what smh.
