After flying both quite a bit recently, I'm having trouble deciding which I think is better. Right now, I'm slightly leaning towards Asajj over Terry just because that extra tankiness removes a terrible matchup that double fangs have (alpha strikes, bombs) to some extent. Terry's value against defenders however cannot be overstated, I mean the guy practically guarantees a win against them if he is flown competently. TLTs seem to be returning to my meta of late and I don't know whether I'd rather have Terry or Asajj to combat that. Miranda can boost a TLT shot to 4 dice, which would hit Terry more often than not and she doesnt have much trouble dodging him. Asajj could possibly evade both shots with double focus+evade and Lattz while also stressing Miranda to make her much more predictable. Terry seems to do better against multiple standard TLT shots though with his Autothrusters. I have played against triple interceptors with Asajj and she definitely did more work in that match stressing people than Terry would have (PS7 small base standard arc against 8+ arc dodgers) but that's not really a matchup I'd expect to face very often. What do you guys think?

The Shadow Caster is really strong and counterbalances Raus weaknesses. I'd go with Assaj. As the resident mine-junkie I am a lot more afraid of Parattani than I am of 2 Fangs + Manaroo because it has so much more hull.

It depends on your playstyle. Parattani is a lot more durable, but has its downsides too. I think Fangaroo is better at taking down triple Defenders.

Paratanni. I think the Fangs are a bit more on-dimensional and while they can be really punishing they just throw a few too many matches. I think you have to avoid being unlucky with Fangaroo, while Paratanni is arguably the #1 list in the meta right now with no particular weaknesses.

Probably the biggest problem with Paratanni is that the Defenders matchup is pretty close and you face Defenders so often you'd really want to bury them confidently.

The whole mine argument is a pretty strong one in my book, although I haven't played either Mindlink variant. I view K-wing bombers as one of the best Rebel lists out there.

If you're primarily worried about Defenders, I wonder what you could do with Manaroo, Asajj, and Old Teroch. Your life is much harder against other Aces but Paratanni doesn't have an initiative bid so you are probably moving before other PS 9 anyway.

I have seen Manaroo so much as an 'aroo' on the end of other lists that I was trying to work out who 'Man' was referring to.

Both names are bad.

Instead of Terry or Asajj I recently started plying with a Party Bus as the third ship. Works rather well. Just gotta keep Fenn alive, and with a Party Bus floating around (cause let's be honest. That is the only way that thing can fly) that might draw some heat off of him.

Ah i guess I thought fangaroo was more generic than oldfennaroo, so fangaroo meant (fang fighter, manaroo) while oldfennaroo clearly stated what ships were in the list. Either way I think the confusion should be cleared up for people.

Black Sun enforcer - Mindlink, slicers

The k-fighter actually becomes pretty good when it has manaroo to give it actual action economy and fitting 3 slicer tools into the list gives real teeth to that as a strategy. As needed 2/3 ships can roll slicers and everyone still ends up with focus+ from manaroo and Mindlink.

What are the Fangaroo's weak matchups? I've been flying Bobattani and couple variants of that, but I'm considering changing to Fangaroo. I don't the have the Shadowcaster yet.

Sorry for this mate, I din't expected list to be so powerfull and popular, and name to be recognizable. Since I've played different Attanni lists like 2 months before Parattanni came out I was somehow out of stock in terms of catchy names .

I think it all depends on your local meta. Mine is dominated by token stackers so OldManFenn was really effective for me for the three months I ran it.

It seemed like every other match I played had x/7 Defenders across from me; OT and Fenn make short work of them once you know what you are doing.

This thread is a perfect example of how the nicknames given to lists my 'the community' tend to be terrible and useless.

I'm going to take my most powerful list and call it the Jolly Uppercut, then use that as if everyone else knows what I'm talking about.

It seems currently that Parattani is doing overall better at competitive events, so I'd give that a slight edge. A lot has already been mentioned about their strengths and weaknesses, to which they mostly make sense. I have yet to play either list yet, but have plans to try a lot of Mindlink lists out soon, mainly to just understand them better in case I face them. Although I do have plans for my own flavor to try out. I have a nickname for it already, but I'm not going to make it a thing unless I actually decide to use it and it ends up placing well in future events.
