JJ will never be obsolete. It's such a unique effect and quite powerful. Being able to generate 3 yaw with a Nav is something Thrawn will never do.

The comparison should be those:

Without nav command (on the ship)

2 yaw + 1dmg vs 1 yaw + 1 speed change

With nav dial

3 yaw + 1 speeds change + 1 dmg vs 1 yaw + 2 speed change

With nav token

2 yaw + 1 speed change + 1 dmg vs 1 yaw + 2 speed change

Definitely they are not the same.

How is Thrawn getting 2 speed changes? You have to spend a dial+token to do that, which is the same effect JJ can do.

Example 1 is where the ship (itself) has no Nav command available (but Thrawn gives him one).

Example 2 is where the ship has a Nav dial (which gets tokenized shortly after Thrawn gives him an extra one).

Example 3 is where the ship has a Nav token (and Thrawn gives him a dial also).

In the last 2 cases, the Thrawn ship gets to spend Nav dial+token, while the JJ ship only gets to spend a dial.

Fair enough. Thrawn makes it easier to get double speed change so long as you plan ahead. Same can be said for Comms Net and Nav dial on the target ship.

Eh, you can thank the Imperial biased play testers for that.

It is a bit disappointing to see a new commander get hit hard by this new mechanic though. But I guess we will have to wait until we see the full description before we can gauge the impact.

Leia will be exactly the same as she is now. Trust me on this. This hubub about Raid is much ado about very little. It's a kinda cool gimmick, but that's about it.

JJ is great. I hope I can win my Regional with Konstantine so I can go back to using JJ.

Making VSDs awesome is the least he did today. The man can pull Death Stars out of his a**, he's got this.

Why JJ ignores navigate raid tokens?
