Scale?

By Kodiak3d, in Star Wars: Armada

I'm aware that the ships in Armada aren't to a consistent scale. Still, I was wondering "roughly" what the scale is. I read somewhere the ISD is 8 inches long, so that's about 1/7900. What about some of the other ships? I'm just kinda curious because I'm more than happy to augment my fleet with non-FFG models if they're close to the relative scale. (Obviously the fighters aren't even close.)

If you accept that the ISD is around 1/7000, there is a couple of 3rd party vendors who offer alternate ships in that scale.

I've seen those teeny tiny ships. Much as the idea of consistent scaling appeals to me, I worry about accidentally inhaling my fleet at that size.

The GR 75s are like sand grains. Imagine going to a tournament and getting a bunch of spaceships in your swim shorts, they'd be getting in to everything.

Now that Revell ISD, that's the way to go. Don't downscale the small ships, upscale the big ones! So what if you can't reach across an 8' x 4' battlefield, it'll look cool, and that's all that matters.

The Revell ISD is still too small. I have the Zvezda one which comes in at 24" long and it's STILL too small to comfortably fit the Armada CR90 in it's docking bay. I mean, it fits, it's just a tad too large.

The scale slide is just something you've got to accept in order to have a playable game IMO. Otherwise your CR90s are going to be like, 10mm long.

Actually, there is a 1/7000 scale thread I the modifications sub forum. Many of the models are ones I painted from various sources. Ill see if I can find it and bump it to the top for you.
