Hi friends and follow Armada peeps. A very Solid happy friday to everyone.
Question of the week,
What is your favorite Ship and has it changed since Armada started?
My favorite ship early on was the ISDII now I hardly ever take it. With fletchette torpedoes, I now absolutely love the Raider, a ship I hated for a long time until I learned how to use it adequately.
Assault Frigate! Ackbar! Broadsides! More dice than you can hold!
Tears of your frustrated enemies!
AFII - and it has changed in pretty much every expansion.
Happy Friday to all!
Lets see, good question but I'll say: hmm, Liberty. It's the great big bully that everyone wants to know (and fun to paint). Other than that, the Pelta, for immediately putting 80's anime songs in my head. AFII is great once you rip its guts out...
...
...happy Friday, again!
Wishing everyone a happy Friday here!
I'd probably agree with the Assault Frigate. This was THE ship at first that gave us a chance to engage Imperial forces without being forced to flank and hit from the rear. Now it serves more as dedicated anti-starfighter support and as escort for my command ship.
I love all my Rebel ships, but sadly, some of them i just don't do well with.
Happy Friday!
My favorite ship is the Millennium Falcon. I guess as it activates in the ship phase, it counts, right?
It hasn't changed Armada much, if at all, but it is the Millennium Falcon and using it to fight the empire always makes me cheerful.
Happy Friday!
At the moment the Kitten, followed very closely by the ISD.
Nothing rebel has really made me go wow.
Happy Friday everyone!
Because of the archetype, I may have to say the Victory Star Destroyer. I wanted to use it as a heavy gunship, laden with Gunnery teams, nice turbolasers, and maybe leading shots. The Ackbar Arms race put an end to it and every other heavy gunship build, turning them all into carriers playing second fiddle to fighter triumphs. I keep longing for gunship VSDs to be a thing again, but they need help with speed and protection I think.
The ISD is another one of my favorites, and it's always been good. The question of the moment is whether ECMs are still the go-to defensive upgrade, or is Reinforced Blast doors? ECMs are not that effective when shot by tons of squadrons.
Happy Friday!
Happy Friday ![]()
I've always loved the speed and manoeuvrability of the CR90. And more-so now that I've finally caught on to the TRC upgrade..
Happy friday!
I think the AFMKii for me. I saw it move from carrier to gun ship back to carrier, and with sato back to gunship. Still moves like a manatee, but man it looks good on the table and I love throwing hand full of dice.....
Second is MC30. I have loved it from the start, and it hasn't changed much honestly, but a great gunship for when you need something dead.
X-wings, X-wings, X-wings, and then Bomber Command came along, OH MY! I love the fact that the iconic fighters are still kicking butt and taking names!
Raiders. Still Raiders. Flechettes have given them better AA, which is great, because I rather love running several Raiders and no squadrons. Everyone looks at it like I'm insane (though, to be fair, they looked at me like that beforehand too), but it's fun to fly, gives me lots to think about, and can sometimes worry even the best players with the biggest ships.
I haven't flown the Kitten yet, but I have a feeling the Raider/Kitten combo will fit rather nicely. Hoping to test that theory next week.
My only sadness with the wave is that I have to buy a second Pelta to pick up another copy of Flechettes, and to a lesser extent RLB and FCT. That's going to be one dusty, sad, unused Pelta...
Raiders and kittens pair so well together 2 of each and a Glad 2 make for one nasty all ship list that wreck squads. Go light on the upgrades and you can even fit a 3rd raider in (I think) and I've been singing the praises of flechettes ever since I got them. Flechettes can frustrate your opponent to no end when you activate and effectively neuter their 134pts of fighters during the ship phase. I feel your pain Dex, I really don't want 3 Peltas but man I want those upgrade cards.
I've been running four of them in a list with a combination of ACM and APT, all toting OE, backed by a pair of APT/ACM Glads, and a "command" Gozanti (because there's no way I'm putting Screed on something as flimsy as a Raider I...). It's been doing shockingly well, even against squadron balls of various kinds.
This was pre-Flechettes, so I'm seeing some potential in converting at least one over. How many I do convert over will entirely depend on whether I'm willing to buy that second Pelta...
Having said that, the Glads are getting swapped out for the Kittens in that exact list next week, so I'll no soon enough!
Fav ship is probably the Assault Frigate since i seem to use it in almost every list lol.
fav squad though, definitely VCX100s. Strategic is hilariously good especially if your opponent isnt using it too.
Happy Friday!
Um..when I started my favorite ship was the interdictor, and in the last...three months, it hasn't really changed yet? The Arquitens is sweet but I'm best at flying it into astroids thus far trying to turn it.
