I was wondering if the Bohdi Rook pilot and crew member would be able to work in conjunction with the astrodriod m8g9(locking onto your own ship)

Also I have posted this question before but it was deemed not appropriate by the mods i suppose as it never passed there screening, is there a rule or format that this question is specifically?

Bodhi cannot let you use M9-G8 to target lock a friendly beyond range 3. Bodhi Rook, both pilot and crew specifies, "can lock onto an enemy ship."

But don't most/all regular Target Lock abilities state that, and things like M8 let you get past that to acquire onto friendlies?

Yeah, assuming you can choose not to use Bodhi's ability, the combination of Bodhi and M9-G8 should mean you can lock onto either an enemy ship at Range 1-3 of any friendly, or a friendly ship at Range 1-3 of you.

The point here is that Bodhi could have been written like Long Range Scanners and just said "When you acquire a Target Lock you can lock onto a ship at Range 1-3 of any friendly ship" and left the "enemy" part to the regular rule. But it wasn't written that way, so the only option that Bodhi adds is the ability to lock onto enemy ships at Range 1-3 of friendly ships.

They may decide to FAQ this to allow M9-G8 to override the "enemy" part of Bodhi's text, but I don't think the cards support that reading out of the box.
