Strange Eons Site

By Thelric, in Fan Creations

Strange Eons is moving to a new permanent domain and a dedicated server. The current site under the sfu.ca domain will continue to work during the transition, but it is as frozen as a shoggoth under an Antarctic moon.

The new home is here:

http://cgjennings.ca/eons/

It is live, but it may behave weirdly as I move things around and set things up.

Later this year there should be some neat things starting to happen at this domain.

Cheers,
Chris

I'd like to thank you for creating such a wonderful program in Strange Eons. The attention to detail - from the spell checker, to the toolbox, to the validation suggestion box (just to name a few!) - is truly awesome.

I've created over 30 investigators with the program for my friends to enjoy, and the extra fun and variety they've brought to our games would not have been possible without your excellent program.

Thanks again.

Thanks. I'm glad that it's helped you get more enjoyment out of a great game, and given you a chance to flex your creative muscles.

I'll second that. SE is an awesome tool, and a lot of fun to mess around with.

I spend hours making characters and items...it is not healthy. :) Great program.

Amazing program.

By the way, is there any chance at all you will be making Ticket to Ride software where you can make boards and cards? Cause that would freaking awesome!

Not me personally, but if someone wants to make one and the publisher doesn't mind, then it is certainly within the realm of possibility. There are several other games for which SE extensions either already exist or are being developed. In fact, a lot of the work I've been doing on SE of late has been on making it easier to add support for games other than AH.

It's great enough as it is, Chris and I love using the program and thank you very much for providing it. I'm looking forward to a Lurker update at some point. Another game I think a SE program would be very useful for is Last Night on Earth, which has a lot of the same type of fan creation aspects involved for making new Heroes, cards and scenarios.

Chris, just wanted to let you know that Strange Eons is great, and that it truly enchances the joy I get from Arkham Horror. thank you for spending the time (and money) that you do on this program, and for adding so much to this game. Looking forward to everything the new site is going to offer.

Chris,

Thank you for sharing your gift with us all. Strange Eons is a fantastic program. I have made Investigator cards based on my family members. They loved them!

Thanks again for such a wonderful program! :)

I second that! I just found this program and it is already clear how complicated, well-thought-out, and totally organized this program is! I am in awe! I am really looking forward to playing with this program to make additions to my favorite game ever! Thank you, Chris!

Hello Thelric, I love your program, albeit I almost use it to open works from another people, and not to create new content.

I really like your fold-up boxes, but they are quite diffucult to use once you start having a lot of cards. I was wondering if you could help me by adding a new kind of fold-up box, composed by a bottom and a top cover. Something like this:

I DO have a fold-up box that works like this (and it's not the one pictured above), so I can provide a scan of it while flattened, and all you have to do is setting it up so that the dimensions of both bottom and top are dependent from the size and quantity of cards.

This would be my favourite box because, if set up properly, you can divide the Investigator Cards in 2, 3, 4, or more stacks, and store the stacks one beside the other, so you have a big quantity of cards in the same box. With the current box, you either have a homungous box (with lids as wide as the other 4 faces, if not wider) or an awful number of smaller boxes.

Please let me know if you need the scans, and how can I send them to you.

Kind regards

Marco from Italy

I will see what I can do when I get some time.
