So, as many of you already know, I 'm not averse to throwing money at the game I love, especially when it comes to the ships I fondly remember from both my childhood and the X-Wing PC games (still the best Star Wars video games ever created in my opinion).
Sometimes, this obsessive-compulsive behaviour can get a tad extreme, I admit (exhibit A), but sometimes I think, what the hell.
So over the holidays I decided to treat myself to two of my favourite Imperial ships from the X-Wing PC games - the Imperial Assault Gunboat and the TIE Avenger:
The Gunboat is a little bit on the large side going by the Wookieepedia dimensions, but I've always thought the 10 meter length was a little short considering the ship's capabilities and payload. It looks just fine next to the TIEs, and the A-Wing:
I've had a couple of ideas for proxying them in games (and obviously there's a fair few homebrew rules out there as well).
With a bit of luck, I'll be starting on the painting over the weekend. Simple Imperial grey color schemes, I think.
