OP Rules Update

By Drasnighta, in Star Wars: Armada

Spoiler Alert: Nothing too interesting.

Really, main thing to look out for here is:

If a spectator believes they have witnessed a breach of the rules in a game they are watching, other than a missed opportunity, he or she may bring it to the attention of a leader.

and

When a judge is observing a game or an issue is brought to his or her attention, the judge should inform players when they are not following the game rules. Players have an initial opportunity to resolve any situation among themselves, but any player may alternatively ask the judge to make a ruling. At a player’s request, a marshal can review a judge ruling and provide a final determination.

And Concessions are 8-0, 140 MOV, unless your current MOV would be higher - than you score those points and MOV....

And you can't share a Damage Deck in a tournament.

Yeah, saw it, posted it, was excited to look, but really... Its just the basic Regs update and some clarifying points...

Really need that FAQ.

As a spectator, I would have made use of this in the past. I am sure there will be people who think it's a bad thing, but I like this change.

On the plus side, it says that it's the January release of new Tournament regs and FAQs (None of which have been updated for any of their games).

On the minus side, it also says these have an effective date of October/November 2016, so it might just be a copy-paste of the last round of updates.

So, takeaway: we might get an FAQ soon.

Really, we're in the same position we were :)

Soooo.... nothing of much significance. Meh.

WTB FAQ.

totally thought that was a new wave of FAQs....

cmon FFG you tease...

The bit about dice...

Does that mean you have to physically have enough dice for any potential role you can make? As I really don't want to buy a dice pack...

Or are you able to roll your three reds multiple times (tracking what has been rolled, of course) to get the required number of dice for a salvo?

The "Sufficient dice for attack rolls." bit?

The only problem is that starts bordering on slow-play territory... If you have a 9 die attack, with modifiers, and only 3 dice to actually roll...... It is potentialyl confusing

But I am sure if your opponent said, "Dude, just roll my extra dice." - it would only potentially become a problem if you refused and intended on only using your 3 dice all the time...

Its also been in there since the first tournament regulations, so if you've gotten away in the past, and no-one's questioned it, you'll probably get away with it in the future - just don't be a **** about it :D

I can see how it could be used for slow-play. Normally, I'd just substitute in other dice to flipped to the relevant result, and grouped by colour, to make it straightforward. You have my word as a gentleman Dras, I will not be an arse about it!

And I honestly wouldn't know, I've only played kitchen table up until now! I'm planning on going to the Warboar tournament in London in a week or so, hence why that gave me a minor fright. As frankly, post multiple kittens, pelta and wave 5 squadrons, I do not have the money to blow on dice right now, unless I start flogging my organs on the open market.

Bet you guys we will have FAQ on Tuesday.

You might want to be careful...

Last time you said something like that, someone won an Arquitens. :D
