"Stay here another turn" question

By Truenappa, in Arkham Horror Second Edition

Quick question: when an investigator is in the other world and gets one of the cards that read "stay here another turn," does that mean that on the following turn you do, or do not, pull another a card from the other world card deck? Our hunch is yes, here.

This also is a question for arkham encounters. My wife pulled a card for the unnameable reading that if she failed (and she did) the roll, she'd stay there next turn reading but gain 2 clue tokens. On this next turn does she pull another encounter card or not? Our hunch here is that she does, because of the first situation.

Sorry if this question has been asked elsewhere. Thanks!

You just become "delayed" and so lay your marker on its side. Then during Phase 2, instead of moving, stand your character back up. Whenever you are on a location during the applicable encounter phase, you have an encounter. So in both cases you were right.

Awesome! Thanks for the prompt response! :)

And don't forget that while delayed (stay here next turn) you don't accumulate movement points so no reading tomes to pass your time

Or casting spells.

Where is that reference on no spellcasting while being delayed? That's how we play it, but I just can't seem to find written rule about it.

It's a new-FAQ thing. No movement spells may be cast if you are, or begin the movement phase, delayed.
