Hugging post.

By Jondavies72, in Star Wars: Armada

I've noticed a creep towards the dark side in the forum. As such this post is designed to counter that. Come and hug your fellow players with nice comments.

And for my first hug:

Good luck to all the players going to the Cardiff regional this weekend, looking forward to catching up with old opponents and meeting new players.

My 63-year old father loves Armada after our first three games, even though evidently it's broken and dead. Oddly, so do I.

Hope everyone's having fun, too.

Luck bugga! my old man has never been all that interested in gaming.

I hug this community; thanks for allowing me to get my Armada fix.

I very rare rarely play because finding opponents is a bit difficult (not much joy here in the U.K.) and I work very awkward shifts which mean I can't commit to clubs. I've not particularly noticed any more negativity than other corners of the web!

we're trying to get something going in Worcester (UK) if thats of any help Sbloom141

I'm in Scotland and only have 1 pal who actively plays. Fortunately, we can play regularly enough to enjoy it and dabble with the campaign.

Huggs and kisses can we get along just for one this one thread

I love y'all!!! Much love to Caribbeanninja and the other admiral bros in Alabama (that's right, he's not in Jamaica haha) and don't forget, it's spelled with two 'b's.

Agreed! We should try my family's approach. We enjoy each other quite a bit, but argue every point to its very foundation. The trick is to do it where friends and neighbors don't have to listen to it (subforums) lest they get the impression that we don't enjoy each other. We get the best of both worlds - people generally enjoy our company and we still get a good passionate argument in among likewise intelligent people.

There's a growing number of people in this community that I'd give a warm handshake to if'n I see you in public! (Rules gurus, strategy article posters, CC teammates & opponents, Fargo regional 2016 folks (eh!), fleet builder / vassal coders and curators, that guy that stops by my town on his way to see his family for an Armada game twice a year, etc!

Don't feed the trolls. May the useless, negative posts sink into a rapid, unsung and ignominious vapor under the discussions of plastic ships, expansion wishlists, and n00b tactical questions. Keep the forums as warm as all of my face-to-face and vassal Armada meetings have been! I feel like the happy-drunk around here since half my posts are thanking somebody for something.

Where in Scotland? I drive up there to see family about twice/ three times a year - near Thurso. That help?

PS Love this game. Been wargaming off and on since i was 9 (so nigh on 26 years) and i cant remember enjoying a game so much. The ease of getting into it, the great mechanics and the setting. Perfect. Ive actually lied to my girlfriend and said ive got essays to do saturday so i can go to a tournament, such are my priorities :D Keep up the constructive forum input, i get some great lists and game-changer inspiration from you guys.

I have noticed a shift too. I like this forum as it is generally quite helpful. Let's continue that.

Ps good luck at the regional in Cardiff I will be there representing the bristol crew as one of its less skilled initiates!

I'm coming all the way from Durham to play, setting off tomorrow on the train. Assuming the little flutter of the white stuff doesn't shut the country down lol

GL there's four/five of us in Yeovil who play out of atomic Comics if you ever fancy a run up the 303. We've all got kids so don't do a regular slot per say but we try to get a night in once a month.

Hugs to you all for supporting this post ( back slapping, pint down the pub hugs to the rebels, and a formal sorry for your loss type hug to the imps).

We've got a cm of sludge forecast for the south west/south Wales tonight, you know us southerners it will shut everything down south of the Midlands for at least two days.

This is a great community. All I hear from event organizers, including FFG, is that Armada OP players are great because they are a lot of fun, friendly competitors.

Awesome, when's your next meet?

I'm usually play at the Inquisition and Rygas clubs in Exeter, but always up for more gaming opportunities.

No set days so but we should be setting a couple of dates later in the month, we arrange via FB when we can all get together. Are you on face book ? I can get you invited to our group page, easiest way as you can input on days etc.

The forum at times can be a little heated but I think its just a little frustration and nothing more and you often see people taking a step back reading what they post and come back in a softer manner. Attending tournaments has always been a pleasure when it comes to Armada as people tend to be alot more forgiving as there is after all loads to process and remember. So a massive hug to a great community.
