I have Dunwich Legacy!

By Scagl001, in Arkham Horror: The Card Game

Yeah

I have it - let's go!

Meanwhile, in Europe...

They put a copy aside for me at my LFGS, along with Carnevale and The dreamlands expansion for Eldritch Horror. Getting it tomorrow!

This weekend will be Cthulhu weekend =)

Don't suppose any uk folks have it, or know it's got over here?

Local game store is getting it on the 19th along with POD stuff, which sounds a out right.

Every time I order from Miniature Market I regret it. They have good deals but are sooo slooow. My order is "processing" Then they ship via Fedex who likes to take scenic tours of the whole midwest before dropping it at my post office. I am looking at another week minimum.

Is it me or did they include 10 encounter cards that aren't used for anything?

If they're all part of the same set, then it's probably going to be used by later scenarios. LotR did the same thing: The first expansion, Kazhad-dum, had an encounter set that was used in three of the adventure packs.

Australia here...

My copy of Dunwich & Carnevale are on the truck for delivery today. Ordered them from a store in Melbourne.

I purchased the base set earlier this week. Tried having my 1st game last night & bam...blackout for 3 hours...

So I should be having my 1st game tonight.

Gameslore.co.uk seem to be selling it. Doesn't mention anything about it not being available, whereas it says that for the small mythos packs they have listed.

Meant to add it looks to be about £24 including first class postage. Double checked and it doesn't seem to say pre order anywhere.

I think those will be used in a future expansion down the line in the campaign. That's usually what LOTR LCG has done.

Are the encounter decks self contained or do the quests require some encounter sets from the Core set?

It requires the core set in all ways. There's no way you can make legal investigators from the cards in this expansion, and it requires encounter sets from the core set.

Minor Spoilers Ahead

Dunwich Legacy contains two quests and you can choose either quest first. Naturally, your choice affects the outcome. I chose to play Extracurricular Activity first with Jenny Barnes in pure solo. (I used the "Jenny Get Money" deck from cardgamedb without any changes. Props to the deck builder.) We are looking for Professor Warren Rice on the grounds of Miskatonic University.

While reluctant to take too much from a single playthrough, I managed R2. I didn't get any guns until late in the game. When I did I could have tried to go back for the Boss Monster, but it felt like time was running out and I bailed. (Probably won't live to regret it.) Achiving R2 didn't feel that hard, but achieving R1 would have been much harder. I did play on "Easy" as I'm sick of getting ROLF stomped when playing solo.

The quest does require you to use encounter cards from the core set and my first draw was naturally Yithian Observer. Fortunately I was able to Evade it and it was at a location I didn't need to visit anymore.

On to the Clover Club!

Is the Dunwich Legacy expansion box the same size as the AH Core Set box or the size of the LotR LCG Deluxe/Saga expansion boxes? I'm guessing the latter.

If it says "New!" they have it in stock. I can verify that in a number of hours, when they mail it to me :)

It's their typical LCG expansion box size (although in the new, cruddy disposable flimsy box we first saw with the Lannister expansion for Game of Thrones).

Yay! That's great news. Don't think my local shop will have it yet unfortunately but good to see it's available somewhere.

Yeah, FFG products have been showing up earlier than usual a few months in a row now. There was one AGoT 2e pack which I had in my hands a couple of weeks before the actual release date (before the Upcoming section had updated it to "Shipping Now"). Of course, I didn't buy it then because I never can remember the titles, so I thought it was one I already had. But even my FLGS can be quick about new releases - they also had AHLCG pretty soon after release.

Received the shipping update from CSI last night! Looking forward to it arriving!

Got mine last night along with a Countless Terrors play-mat. I'm so dreadfully happy!

I've ordered mine from Gameslore, I also ordered the MOM2 expansion, Beyond the Threshold ;)

Ordered mine from CSI, should be here by tuesday

Europe should get it around the 20th
