When would you use Infamy?

By TravisS, in 1. AGoT General Discussion

Just looking at the house specific abilities. Trying to find a reason I would want power on a character rather then my house. Seems like character's are a whole lot more fragile. Thanks

If you couldn't win the power challenge on defense and didn't want your opponent to be able to get your power. Or if your character had benefits from having power on them.

Oh I see, if you were just going to have the power stolen on defense, put it on your character instead.

Are there any character who gain something from having power tokens in him?

There were some in the CCG format, but I don't think there are any in LCG right now. Jaqen H'ghar was an LCG card who had infamy and got +1 strength for each power on him, but he's banned now.

there is an attachment that gives infamy and +1 STR for each power on the Charcater. its in the clash fo arms cycle and is lanister (1 gold)

It´s Devious intentions, F 94 and also gives the charahcter stealth and it has a nice Cersei artwork. ;-) In CCG times there was also a crazy combo potential with some cards, e.g. Timmet, son of timmet and and Alayne stone (both house of talons). Also take into consideration that infamy may also be printed on other card types than a charahcter. We had cards like Castamere and the lion´s mouth in the past (both Five king edition), which were very popular at their time.

Also we might possibly see some cards like flea botttom scavenger in the future (time of trials). Gametext: "Response: After you play Flea Bottom Scavenger from your hand, draw 3 cards if you have no power on your House card ." But to tell the truth at the moment infamy isn´t that useful.

Yes, generally infamy has been paired with a second ability that gave a bonus for the card having power on it.

Honestly, I'd like to see some infamy come back, along with the other house specific keywords.

Any character with Devious Intentions ;)

Don't forget about Vendor of Venoms: cannot be discarded if it has at least 2 power on it. (And it's got Vengeful, too.)

Dang! You just gave away my sweet tech!
