How to Contact the Game Developer / Developers and/or FFG???

By Nechromius, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

While reading through other threads I've noticed that some of the FFG staff -- sometimes -- comment directly.

Additionally, I've noticed that some people seem to have a direct method of contacting (PM'ing) certain FFG staff for rules clarification(s).

Is this public knowledge?

I'm rather new to the Imperial Assault forum(s), and when I can't find an answer to my question(s) by searching threads, I'd love to be able to ask one of the game developers directly, so that when I present information to my gaming-group they respect the source of the info.

Would somebody please post -- or private message -- and let me (and others?) know how to contact the rules-mediators at FFG for just such questions???

Thanks!

Most of the things can be found from the Rules Reference Guide.

Have you looked at the Imperial Assault Forums on boardgamegeek.com ? (To find specific answers use google..)

We come across the regular and irregular IA questions. There are a lot of knowledgeable people on boardgamegeek's IA Forums, including the technical editor Clipper (Jorgen Peddersen) and myself.

There should be a rules query page somewhere in the support pages for the cases when you absolutely, definitely need a ruling from the designers.

To be honest, I haven't seen an actual FFG staff member post to these forums in years. I highly doubt anyone at FFG actually reads them anymore. Best way to reach anyone at FFG directly is to post a comment directly on their Facebook, Twitter and/or Instagram pages. Even then, good luck in getting a response. As of late, if you try to email FFG directly, you will get a nasty response to never contact them via email again.

Who did you try to e-mail? (There may be a reason for some addresses giving you automated responses.)

Nasty even?

I've never had a question that by searching the rules subforum, I couldn't find several answers to already. Of course you could just pm a1bert

FFG folks will not post here other than the forum moderators, other than in very unusual cases. There is a rules questions contact form: https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/contact/rules/ That is your best bet for contacting an authority at FFG.

It was their general info email (which it appears they have since removed and replaced with a contact form). It used to be that I could email them a general question (such as when I used it to ask about the situation with Star Wars board games and Hasbro back when they first got the license) and I would get a short but friendly response. Last time I sent an email to the same address asking a rather innocuous question about specific impacts from the Asmodee merger, the person who responded basically acted like I was scum and warned me never to email them again (and it wasn't an automated response).

as much as a FFG response like that is wholly inappropriate, I find your use of hyperbole detracts from your complaints about their email.

Without the actual text from the email, it's hard to know if you're exaggerating or if the person responsible really sent a very inappropriate reply...

Good customer service is key to maintaining a healthy client base, of course, but unverifiable hyperbolic complaints don't help either...

(Edit; to clarify, if my tone is misinterpreted somehow; I am merely raising the above issue with a purpose to discuss the finer points of your issues with the response you got)

Is there any way to contact the designers on questions/suggestions on future products?

It seems FFG's policy that designers don't decide on future products and cannot answer questions on future products.

If you want an answer you need to go higher.

To be completely honest - if your player base group doesn't respect the consensus of this forum and DEMANDS official words from the designers ... they seriously need to remove those sticks out of their butts and relax a bit. Work on the player group's attitude so it isn't so toxic. 8\

Yeah, if you have any rules questions they can almost certainly be answered here.

If it's questions about upcoming products, suggestions, etc... well, I wouldn't waste your time trying to DM your way through that.

However, I am a big proponent of community management, and I think that voicing your opinion on an online forum such as this can be surprisingly effective. That being said, I'm not sure how well FFG utilizes this (or any) online platform from a feedback perspective.

OP asking for ruling is a year and half old guys.

@ArcticJedi , FFG has already stated in an AMA that they are not producing anymore new IA products. You should check out community mod for IA, the IACP, and also join the Zions Finest slack channel. That is where the future of the game is being created.

Got it. I'm still holding out hope that they're gonna not shut down... and if they do stop production, they should at least give us the reason that they shut down. But they probably won't.

You should really listen/watch the AMA. "Imperial Assault is a completed game" for "business reasons".

If you can't find the video, at least read https://www.fantasyflightgames.com/en/news/2019/9/6/scry-the-future/

Thanks, I couldn't find the AMA, so thank you for the link.
