Descent Skirmish Rules

By Silidus, in Descent: Journeys in the Dark

So this popped up in another thread and it got me thinking.

Assuming you were playing a skirmish game between two overlord players, using monsters only. Each overlord player gets a basic deck, and 10xp to spend on cards and monster groups. What cost would you assign to your favorite monster group?

(Note that at 10XP (and assuming all the basic deckbuilding rules still apply) you would be able to take a 3XP card rank 3 (for a total of 7XP including requirement cards) and have 3XP left over for monsters, or use only the basic deck and field 10XP worth of monsters)

Assume Act 1 monsters only;

I'll go with;

Zombies (0 points) - fodder!

Bone Horrors - 3 points

Goblin Archers - 2 points

Cave Spiders - 1 point.

Choosing basic 1 every time.

Infector would be a huge disaster to aggressive setups.

Goblin archers

Medusa

Golems

Taking an infector build seems like it could be strong against heavy health units (like Golems) but wouldnt be very useful against swarm groups like Kobolds or Goblin Archers. Seems like it would kinda balance out.

I wish i had someone to playtest this with 8}

Kobolds would get the ban hammer so hard, they'd become a fine ground powder.

Like I said earlier in a similar thread, you would need to address conditions and attribute-based monster abilities. These really sound like they would be OP in a game mode like this.
