Please everyone put me on your ignore list but stop the harassment OK if don't like what anyone says say I disagree and or go away if you are tempted to post but calling some a troll is a form of trolling in itself. Following the around the forum calling them a troll is harassment by definition.

Yes, the person you ignore's posts are simply blocked with a message saying so in their place. And they can still see yours. It is definitely not perfect, but it's something. I would agree that reporting rampant trolling with a hope to get them banned is better, however, the best trolls are able to do it without being overly offensive when they do it (just irritatingly obnoxious). This can often make it tough to get an admin to act. Like I said, not perfect, but something.

I see that a post has been hidden, as if one voice suddenly cried out in terror, and was suddenly silenced. I believe something fantastic has happened.

I don't ignore anyone, but when I see a new topic that ONLY serves to invite more arguments I tend to report it.

Also there is a thing as being witty and failing and a troll. A troll never says you got me I am a troll that is wit. Just because you didn't get it doesn't make him a troll. Following him into other topics harassing him makes you a troll.

Thanks for the pro tip! I had to search around for it, so I'll mention that it's in My Settings under 'Ignore' Preferences.
