Is mace windu alive

By CornyTDog2000, in Game Masters

My friend and I have be discussing wether he is alive I don't think so he says otherwise what are your inputs.

Canonically impossible to tell. Could I find a hundred ways to make it so in my game? Yep!

Jedi, who can move objects, I would think wouldn't fall to their death. One man's humble opinion.

Death by electrocution however...

Doesn't matter until someone wants to make a story of it. Then the fan base will be divided into two camps, some pre-hating it, some pre-loving it, until the story is told and we see whether or not it was worth it.

I was dubious to the point of disappointment when I first heard about the resurrection of Maul, but Filoni and crew managed to pull it off in a stellar way (IMHO) and I'm glad they did. Barring a bit of medical hand-waving, it's a fine character arc and it's not quite over.

If you want Windu in your story, do it. Just make it worthwhile. A character like that has to go through a lot to survive, and is likely to be very damaged goods if encountered by any PCs. The players can't expect to simply pay for new hands and now they have a kickass Jedi on their side...

It's certainly possible. Personally I think an elderly Mace Windu/Samuel L would be great, with a decent script, some good dialogue, and a director that will let him be him.

Fett got out of a Sarlac pit (probably), Vader got third degree burns over 90 percent of his body, Maul got chopped in half and Walurusman got shot with a Death Star - and all came back. I see no reason why Windu couldnt be alive too.

Schrödinger's Jedi.

Mace Windu is both alive and dead... until you decide one way or the other for your game and story.

They never found a body...

I've made him to a diner owner in the undercity of Coruscant.

According to Samuel L Jackson himself, Windu is alive. He claims he spoke to George Lucas who said that he 'had no problems' with him being alive, which sounds a lot like "I have no intention of doing anything with the character so you can headcannon it however you like". It certainly sounds like Mr Jackson would jump at the chance to revive the character in future films, so yeah do whatever you want. You might want to come up with some explanation as to why he didn't go after the Emperor himself, or get involved with things to the point that it begs the question why he never showed up in the original trilogy.

I'm saying nothing until a subplot in my campaign plays out. At least one of my players reads the boards. Even this is saying too much.... ;)

According to the script for Episode III - which reads "Mace Windu falls to his death" - he's dead.

On the other hand, this is Mace Mother-Lovin' Windu! What do YOU think?

Seeing the Old Man Makeup they put him in for Django Unchained and Hateful 8, I would have no issue seeing an elder Mace in E9 or something.

Well, provided that there's some story reason for him to be there and not just more E7 Fanwank.

Anything is possible.

Even the Emporer survived his fall down a shaft and the Death star blowing up around him, with cloning technology

Hmm. Mace Windu as Snoke. Now THAT is an interesting concept!

Depends it's not as if you need to ask the story group for permission on what happens in your game doesn't it?!

Wait? You don't? Then who the hell has been replying to my emails?

Officially I think Mace Windu is dead. Palpatine fried him and flipped him like a burger through a window like a greesely McDonalds worker. Although he was cool, he was also a lot of the ignoence that was bad for the order. The difference is that Yoda lived long enough to regret his life choices (that and he was in the OT. Ahahah)

Unofficially, I see it being cool. ^^ What if situations can make a nice twist.

Yeah, any Macing in the films I would want to follow on storywise, not be another holo-chessboard moment.

There's always this Mace Windu image if you like the alive choice. (I personally do. He hangs out with alive Bail Organa in my Star Wars. Alive Ima-Gun Di is elsewhere...) And this is the image I use for Master Windu.

I believe this image originally comes from Deviant Art, but I'm not sure. I first saw it posted on these boards and I don't think there was any credited artist. If anyone knows where it comes from originally, please speak up, for I do not.

According to the page at http://starwars.about.com/od/Movies/tp/Hey-Lucasfilm-Here-are-5-Killer-Movie-Ideas-for-You.htm , that was created by Brian Snook and was posted on DeviantArt. It took a little searching, but I found the page at http://www.deviantart.com/art/Crazy-Old-Man-WIndu-Rebels-Fan-Art-479952127
