That Force Lightning... that's crazy.
All of those cards are great, with the Death Trooper being slightly less impressive. Expect The Emperor to be the one to get.

Wow, i thought it would be a little while before the emperor himself was added to the game
Fantastic news. Can't wait to see how an Emperor tank deck works. There's a lot of good tools for him. That Force Lightning.....ugh.....
Yah, but Krennic gets a free Death Trooper die if you control the battlefield, jeez, thats nice!
Hopefully supply will be better. It looks like an interesting set though from the few cards we see.
I'm quite surprised Jyn is not a legendary card.
Death Trooper looks solid. Triple Trooper @30 hp with Endless Ranks can be hard to chew through.
Jyn a little too expensive, maybe?
And dat Palp...
I'm wondering how long awakening will be printed with this set coming out.

lol they'll stop the print run of Awakenings right about when it starts being consistently available.
I still know plently of people who can't find any boosters.
These characters are strong but also pretty pricey. Jyn is going to be a lot of fun. Palpatine is sufficiently deadly and friendless. I'm really excited for Baz and Chirrut teams.

Looks awesome! I'm also surprised we got the Emp so soon.

I'm surprised she costs more (and has more health) than Han Solo.
Palpatine at 28pts really makes me think we'll get some kind of character upgrades or something for cheap points to get a deck with him to an even 30pts. Maybe a 2pt Mouse Droid...?
Q2 means that we'll have a few months to get in the supply for Awakenings and actually play through the meta. A lot of these cards here look really interesting and powerful, though quite expensive. I'll be interested to see what sort of events we get to supplement these characters.
The best part of this set is that when it comes out, everyone else that plays Destiny at my LFGS will be buying all the new stuff, and there will finally be available Awakenings boosters for me to get and start playing with more stuff from the first set. Sure, I'll be a set behind everyone else, but desperate times call for desperate measures.
Awakenings looks awesome and I can't wait for it. Jyn looks interesting, but she seems costly for her ability and dice.
Krennic's ability seems really cool, essentially have a two-dice character for their one-dice cost provided you meet the condition for his ability. I'd definitely want to try playing with him.
Death Trooper looks neat (love the artwork), but regular First Order Stormtroopers might be good enough for non-unique red villain characters at 3 points less. Might depend on personal preference and/or deck type. They're die seems really good though.
I'm curious what the forum's opinion on Palpatine will be. I personally like him just on first looks. I find it thematic and oddly appropriate that he's so expensive and can be a one-character deck build archetype. It'll be cool to see if/how people work decks around that. I'd imagine a couple upgrade cards and plenty of support to balance out the lack of initial activations.
With that points cost and an ability relying on opponent's choice, I can't shake the feeling Palp is more of a trap card than anything else.
Edited by Don_SilvarroI haven't even got any boosters (only starters) for awakenings and I already want this

I can't really see how it would work having just one character. His dice are powerful sure, but he only has 15 health, eJango/eVeers can chew through that in 2 rounds.
He could be a 1 of to get more health, but then you still only have 2 dice, even though he seems soooooo powerful, the number of dice you'd get seems really weak to justify his costs.
All the characters seem pricey but their dice are pretty redonkulous. Jyn's ability is fantastic - Jump to Hyperspace and Don't Tell me the Odds for 2 money fingers? Yes plz.

Does he really? Barring a single additional shield, his die is very comparable with Vader's, who brings two for the price tag at which Palp gets just one. Also, Palp's die is terrible for lightsabers on account of the damage type, so going mono-blue with him will actually hamper your damage potential. And with that points cost, you don't get much room to play with character/color combos.
Unless this set has a bunch of cards/effects that inversely scale to how many characters you have on your team, I can't see Palp being a thing.
Edited by Don_SilvarroWhenever i activate chirrut, i'm gonna be reciting "i am one with the force and the force is with me" then watch as i fail horribly because i cannot roll to save my life

That is an extremely plausible scenario given how incredibly inconsistent his die is. I'm at a loss as to who you'd want to pair up with him and what weapons to include given two damage types and all that blue.
Edited by Don_SilvarroPalpatine is all show and no go. He's the definition of putting all your eggs in one basket.
But I'm okay with this. I feel like Dark Side is WAY too powerful in this game as is, so hopefully SoR will beef up Light Side without helping Dark Side too much more. Force Lightning seems fun, but also a little underwhelming. Cards like Never Tell Me the Odds go a long way toward helping Heroes out.
I think Jyn is costed perfectly well when she comes with essentially a free extra resource each turn! I'm looking forward to this set!
