Please tell this means more epic support.
Yeah more epic!
I think a Scum Epic ship was inevitable at some point but I don't think it necessarily points to plans for further Epic ships for the other factions. It was simply adding some balance and taking the opportunity formalise the fix to the Scyke that they had issued in the FAQ.
Whilst it is fun, I think that Epic will remain a niche compared to the standard format.
i think with time there will be more epic ships for each faction ..... but that my be a long time period
If nothing else we need a two card (fore and aft) Scum Ship.
The knew movie makes me think you are right
eventually scum will get a duo card epic ship. But i doubt we'd get anything beyond that. The Nebulon and Aqruitens could be added but i think theyre a bit large. Nebs are tall as hell though so that could be an issue lol
I hope they do a Wild Karde
Also I think boba fett the crew found a new home.

Looks pretty though:

What do you mean by "support"? Do you mean epic tournaments? Prize kits? That sort of thing? Personally, I don't care about that stuff. I like playing Cinematic mostly or maybe a casual Epic game, but competitive epic is just more points to bring out the most broken stuff you can find. I don't fly Jonus around my Raider to get all those re-rolls because it's just stupid from a fluff perspective.
I probably should invest in an acrylic set for epic with the magnets in them.
More cinematic play options is always a good thing, but I wouldn't count on more epic tournaments.
I'd love to see them come out with more scenarios or such. It would only cost them the manpower to have someone design and play test it and then the manpower to put it online.
Epic 'support' is probably more significant than commonly thought. Every wave has upgrades and ships that don't seem to work well. But that only takes standard play into account. In epic play, these might be good or even more powerful. Etahn, ion torpedoes, possibly Bodhi Rook crew. How good is Bistan on a CR-90? Esege next to it?
It's odd that on the one hand cards are easily dismissed but not considered for epic. I don't think the design philosophy is like that. The support for epic appears to be there.
I keep hearing about this Wild Karde thing, so I finally looked it up to see why everyone wants it.
This thing looks hideous and stupid. It looks like someone made a tote case out of a Gundam foot. Why would you want this? Why would anyone want this?
Why play the Falcon then, it's just a hunk of junk.

Just in time as Armada is currently on my never go near until I see some real fixes done to it's rules problems. Also maybe some grown ups playing it because I am sick of the man children playing it on their forum. You can't even offer the politest of criticism without being labeled a troll. Great way to show how secure you feel about the games current state. No wonder several shops I go to have boxes of their tournament supplies collecting dust and are starting epic xwing instead of CC armada events. Sorry venting but yeah a lot of things become great and some become not so great in epic.

It's an association thing. Talon Karrde was a very cool character in charge of an interesting crime organization in the Timothy Zhan books. People liked the Wild Karrde before it ever had an official image. Once they saw the image, it's hideous visage couldn't obscure the fact that this was the really cool ship owned by the really cool guy people had been reading about.

That's one reason I love Epic so much. So many pilots and ships become good when they aren't so great in Standard. Also, some things that were very strong get busted down sometimes. Soontir Fel and Fat Han really get their teeth kicked in. Fel takes too many attacks to survive most of the time, and two Single Turbolasers or a Turbolaser and an Ion Battery will show Han the Dark Side. It's not every day you get to see a Falcon killed early in the second round of firing.
Also Epic becomes Flight of the Generics!
I would bet good money that the first faction to get a third Epic ship is Rebels with a Hammerhead Corvette at equivalent size to the Tantive IV.
It would have special rules for ramming maneuvers and include crew cards for Jun Sato, Asokha Tano and other important Rebels characters missing a card as well as a Phoenix Squadron A-Wing escort featuring a new title and the ability to fly any of the appropriate characters (coughsabineheracough) in the cockpit.
Like I said: Good money on the table.

I like this idea - but I wouldn't expect it for a couple years. Scum needs their large cruiser... or second small cruiser (and deny scum a big ship!?) before Rebels get a third... and it seems one epic cruiser a year is the limit.

Yeah, I think they know that at $100 for a game whose normal ships range from $15 to $30, that they can't just release two of those things at once. It's a big expenditure, and I imagine that releasing them at once would mean fewer sales overall.
I want FFG OP to sponsor and/or support an Epic Tournament.
Could be at national, or worlds, or part of that new systems open format.

I actually think Epic tournament support would be an excellent idea, especially if they made it Team Epic. There are a variety of reasons this would be a good move on their part.
1. Increased incentive for people to buy Epic ships
2. Team match would help make sure that you are able to deal with a high number of participants, as with 2v2 you're still getting in a ratio of 2 players per 3x3 of table space.
3. Team matches tend to be faster, so you won't end up bloating the length of your tournament but can still make sure most games end satisfactorily.
4. Since some ships do well in Epic that don't see much play in Standard, FFG's player base will get some added mileage out of pilots and upgrades that traditionally don't get their day in the sun.
oh and bonus number 5, turning their developmental attention to Epic might slow down their release of standard ships, as many people seem to be getting a little fatigued at the saturation of choices we're reaching.
Edited by That One GuyI fully support this.
