Regionals Scum List

Help me out here guys. Been playing around with different iterations of this list over the past couple of months. Right now, I'm considering this version.

Scum Party (100)

Trandoshan Slaver (34) - YV-666

4-LOM (1), Zuckuss (1), Dengar (3)

Manaroo (34) - JumpMaster 5000

Adaptability (0), "Gonk" (2), R5-P8 (3), Feedback Array (2)

Fenn Rau (32) - Protectorate Starfighter

Fearlessness (1), Concord Dawn Protector (1), Autothrusters (2)

Other iterations have included Inertial Dampeners on the slaver, PTL on Fenn, K4 on Manaroo, etc.

Biggest things I struggle with now:

1) Is Autothruster almost must add on Fenn to protect him from the likes of Dash, Falcons, etc? And is it worth missing out on Inertial Dampeners on the Slaver?

2) Gonk vs K4 on Manaroo?

- theoretically could Gonk two maybe three extra shields first few rounds.

3) Is PTL worth it on Fenn? I used to run Fenn without, but that was when I had K4 on Manaroo and she was theoretically passing focus and target lock to Fenn.

Thoughts?

Thoughts?

1) Yes. A thousand times yes :) Fenn needs to both set up his attacks and disengage effectively, and Range 3 with Autothrusters is the best way to do both. Not to mention that without them, turrets will ruin him, especially if he doesn't have PTL either.

2) Manaroo with both Gonk and R5-P8 can be a really solid and annoying build for her, but it really needs PTL to work properly - if Manaroo is going to be passing tokens (and she will), I'm not sure she'll have the spare actions for Gonk to be used effectively otherwise. I have not flown Manaroo much myself, though, so I'm not sure if there's a better option than K4 for her. Perhaps Recon Specialist? Fenn with two or even three focus is much harder to shift, and could well allow him to get away with an EPT other than PTL.

3) It is, though I'd say it's far from as essential as it is for Interceptors, particularly if you have action support (Manaroo, Mindlink etc). Fearlessness can make Fenn terrifying when you get that perfect, 6-die shot, or if points were no object than Expertise would be fairly vicious too.

What about this then?

A lot of people disagree with me (to successful effect, I might add) but I don't like taking Fenn without PTL. The arc dodging opportunities are too important for me too pass up the boost+br option, especially when you're working with a Manaroo build that can reliably feed him tokens on the turns he may have to spend actions on repositioning.

So personally I'd slap that on him, drop Manaroo's Feedback Array and give her Trick Shot. That leaves you a point for Inertial Dampeners on the Slaver, which can be a game-changing upgrade if it buys you one more shot with the YV (which is not to suggest that Feedback Array isn't an equally valid/potent game-changer).

Thoughts on Feedback on the Slaver instead of Intertial Dampeners. For when someone does finally get behind him.
