Vizago sheanigans!

By Vitalis, in X-Wing

So fellas who can find best use for our horned smuggler?

I came up with:

HWK - generic

Cloaking Device

Hull Upgrade

Vizago

21pts

Plan is to cloak and in the first turn already swap that cloak for Feedback array to make sure it wont fail (since now you are cloaked and can stay that whole game and since you no longer have cloaking device there is no need to roll + Vizago happens before CD roll) and then chill around block some stuff and deal some feedbacks in da face :D

Deluxe version (propably too expensive)

Palob

Intimidation

Cloaking

Hull

Vizago

27 pts - still "ok" but waaaay more utility :D

You can also do:

Constable Zuvio

Cluster Mine

Pattern Analyzer

Cloaking Device

Vizago

Spacetug Tractor Array

EPT to taste

Cloak round 1, swap cloaking device for a scavenger crane. Drop bombs and tractor people around while you stay cloaked all game.

when cloaked you can not attack so not trigger for feedback array I guess.

when cloaked you can not attack so not trigger for feedback array I guess.

Its the same as blinded pilot - you can FA if your blinded, so...

ohhhhh scum just got a world of fun ..... rock up to a tournament and can edit your list a bit every match to fit your needs

LOVEN IT

I can guess if you no longer have a cloaking device, you're no longer cloaked? I could be wrong, but what states you stay cloaked forever when you don't have a cloaking device equipped.

Won't be shocked if they faq/errata it to not work that way/equip it to large ships however.

The cloak action says you're cloaked forever until you decloak. Nothing says the cloak goes away if the cloaking device goes away somehow other than breaking (boba get could already remove it now for instance)

Give palob attain mindlink and you have a decent token generator for other mindlink ships

I must say I like the idea of changing to a Dead Man's Switch just if you think you're likely to go down next turn, and ramming right into the enemy formation...

Indeed. Consider Boba Fett: he could steal the cloaking device, already. Your ship still stays cloaked. The token is what matters, not "what is in the upgrade slot".

Giving you 5 green dice, the possibility to stack 'n steal Focus tokens for extra defense and bypassing shields if someone is foolish enough to get stressed (*waves at Zuckuss).

Separate question:

What's the point value of a ship switching a 3 point upgrade for a 1 point one?

Do you count the value of both upgrades?

It's just the points it is worth on your fleet build sheet. IE., if 3 points to start with, it's 3 points.

While that does make sense, it feels a bit wrong, even by switching out the Feedback Array at the last moment to a Dead Man's Switch could provide a significant bonus

Not entirely sure that's true RAW. According to the tournament regulations, the points for a ship are the cost of the ship and all equipped upgrades. Technically when the ship dies, the equipped upgrade is whatever you switched to. It never refers to your sheet in the rules for scoring. Don't know if that's the intention or not, but it's how the rules read

This might be a nasty little thorn in the side:

Jakku Gunrunner (15)
Cikatro Vizago (0)
Cloaking Device (2)
Spacetug Tractor Array (2)
Total: 19
Changing into:
Jakku Gunrunner (15)
EMP Device (2)
Spacetug Tractor Array (2)
A permanently cloaked (until you decide otherwise) 4 green dice ship tossing the enemy around to the most disadvantageous places and stealing their agility.
At worst, it's a mini-Biggs for all the hate it'll get.

This is I think the best place for it. Scum have so many great crew options he is going to need to go on a cheap ship.

But you don't reduce your squad value at the end of a match if you discarded an Illicit upgrade, or if Boba Fett discarded something. Those are no longer equipped, but they're still part of your squad value.

No, but you do:

A player’s score helps determine who won the game in certain circumstances and is used to calculate Margin of Victory. Each player calculates their score by adding together the total squad point value of their opponent’s destroyed ships, including Upgrade cards equipped to those ships.

If you destroy everything you get 100 points, but if you destroy everything but a single Z-95, do you get 88 or possibly 90 points?

This is I think the best place for it. Scum have so many great crew options he is going to need to go on a cheap ship.

Luckily, Scum has a few cheap crew-carriers.

I think this build sells the Quadjumper to me (the Epic was a given anyway).

I'm gonna try this:

Unkar Plutt

  • Vizago
  • Connor Net
  • Cloaking Device > Scavenger Crane

23 points for a really annoying little bastard. Fenn Rau should really be able to capitalize on both the tractor and ion tokens.

Discarded upgrades are Still equipped to the ship though, you just turn them facedown. This is completely changing out what upgrade is equipped

I don't like Juke/Stygium here. Vizago requires you to discard him, so you can only swap the cloaking device for another Illicit once. Once that's gone, you're stuck with 4 points and three slots spent on upgrades that you can't actively use.
