No Star Jewel makes me a sad panda... :(

By tsondaboy, in X-Wing

Tantiv Iv Lengt 126.6 M

Star Jewel Lenght 160 M

that approx 25% extra lenght

Tantive IV was 150m in Legends and the OT.

Then Lucas Films messed up the modell in Episode III which was a lot stubbier then the one in EP IV.

They even admitted it, which lead to the introduction of the CR70 which is 126m long. So the ship in Ep III isn't the Tantive IV.

The FFG modell ist the 150m version.

Disney seems to have retconned all CR90s to be 126m long.

The appearance in ANH can be confirmed to measure approx 150 meters by comparison to the ISD that is on screen with it in several scenes, unless the Devastator has been shrunk too. I don't give a bantha poodoo about what the wiki or Dizznee says, the Rebel Blockade Runner is a lot closer to 150 meters than 125 meters. Dr. Saxton would be rolling in his Aussie grave, if he were dead.

I totally approve!

Dizznee, the new WEG.

(Sorry if I seem testy today, haven't had my morning meds yet.)

(That and changing the size of anything from the OT with clearly set dimensions that can be measured on screen and in physical models built in conventionally used scales...REALLY gets my BUNGOAT)

Don't insult WEG! The D6 pnp is great!

A lot of the fleshing out of the Aliens was great, as well as the actual mechanics of the game. I can totally see Rogue One being played out in the SWRPG. But when it came to representing on screen ships they missed the mark many, many times.

All the more room for an Action Transport though, which is great news.

Not really, currently rebel and imperial have a transport type huge ship and a corvette type huge ship. It's unlikely scum would get 2 transports before they get a corvette. I also think the action transport is unlikely anyway, but what do I know.

I am willing to bet that as soon as the young Han Solo movie hits the theaters, Star Jewel will be canonized.

Not to mention the Imperial Raider was canonized by FFG, just saying.

Well, thats the reason our game group uses the fanbooks ;)

FFG slides the scale to make it work. The Star Jewel would have work just fine...

BUT

the fact that we are getting Jabba crew really makes me think his yacht will never happen- that would mean we are probably getting the Hammerhead corvette or a totally new Epic ship before ANYTHING else in the 'huge' category for S&V.

I just hope we can still get a Scum GR-75.

We got Han Solo crew with Tantive, Jan Ors crew with rebel aces, Lando crew with YT-2400 etc etc. So I will not be surprised if FFG decided not to release Jabba together with his designated ship.

I agree that this should have been the ship for Jabba.

Unfortunately, I think it's clear that the mouse wants to keep FFG to their canon only instead of going back. I think that has been clear since wave 9 (you could argue 8 is when they started their influence but it wasn't until 9 that it was 100 percent canonized without EU references).

Wonder what they will come up with instead. Won't be Action Transport though unless Rebels canonizes it.

The Action Transport is the right size and is narrow enough.

The mouse needs to remove there grubby paws from the Star wars cannon, it removes to much of the good stuff and only replaces it with even shatter versions of what was there.

Kyle Katarn, great hero character, nice backstory, helped make star wars great.

GONE

Jabba's Star Jewel : Allowed Jabba to be fleshed out about what time of space craft he might have used and if he ever left Tattoonine

GONE

Zann Consortium : again, allows backstory to florish with Jabba's relationship with other underworld characters, allows unique ships to be brought in to further broaded the universe and bring it to life

Instead, what do we get for cannon...

HondoHS-Revival.png

A boring character that quite frankly ANYONE could have replaced and done equally a good job

Azmorigan.jpg

A walking lamer version of Jabba....with a horrible voice that you dont wanna hear, not at all "demanding" of respect even, at least jabba's voice was menacing and sounded unique.

These two are putzes, no denying it... but I hardly think we're supposed to accept them as Jabba's replacement for the seedy underbelly of the outer rim. Jabba still exists, and he's still a terrifying mob boss. His details have just gone back to being a mystery, which is fine by me (though, we all know it will be at least referenced in Han's anthology film).

Leatherface and Big Red Goblin are just the two resident knuckleheads of the Rebels show. They're hardly more succesful than Han was before Episode IV. Vizago is a small step up, but still orders of magnitude punier than the Jabba.

There are people in this thread hating on Space Minsc.

These people are fools. FOOLS!

Hondo's old flying saucer should have been the ultimate Scum PWT pancake.

To be honest tho, Kyles backstory was riddled with plotholes and not thought through completely.

A typical Videogame backstory. I can understand why he wasn't brought back into canon

We could still get it. The C-ROC is Scum's "small" Epic. They still need a "large" Epic.

Holy ****...I didn't realize they had the same VA. No wonder I love Hondo so much!

I'll be very surprised if we don't get a Large Epic for Scum that also includes the StarViper fix.

Hondo is freaking awesome! How can you hate on him?

I guess if you've only seen him on rebels and not on the clone wars maybe he's harder to like.

If you've seen him live, he's even cooler!

(There was a guy with a sweet Hondo costume at Celebration VII. His mask had a separate face piece and jaw piece so that you could see his jaw move when he talked. He did the voice and everything! It was really neat.)

I agree with whoever guessed that one of the titles shown in the spread is, in fact, "Star Jewel".

The third title from the right, with the rusty colored ship.

A bit of retcon shoe-horning to make Jabba fit?

Disney needs to keep doing what they're doing.

Disney's new canon is leagues ahead of what the EU was.

For every Thrawn, you had four Darksabers (the giant space weapon) and a Vong.

The EU was mainly crap with a few good parts, a lot of which are being brought back (Thrawn, Defenders, HK-47, Darth Bane, Wraith Squadron (yes, Wraith Squadron is back, read the end of Aftermath: Life Debt)).

Anybody hating on Hondo obviously has not seen the Clone Wars episodes with him in it. Hondo is great.

I don't like him, but I also disliked CW so meh. But I think he fits well into Rebels, so I can enjoy him and don't hate him.

Also HK-47 is canon? Source, now :D

Did no star jewel just make you sad? Or were you already sad and it made you into a Panda?

Star Wars: Galaxy of Heroes. It's a Mobile Game, but it's EA, and it's after the Disney EU wipe, which means, just like the Defenders from Star Wars Commander, HK-47 is canon.

EA? Really? You care about something EA made...pardon me when i go lose my lunch *blarrgghhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh*

Doesn't change the fact that it's made HK-47 canon again. But hey, don't let that stop your blind hatred from impeding your judgement and intelligence.
