Now that SWX58 is revealed...let's guess the NEXT wave!

By xanderf, in X-Wing

Anakin won't be included as that is hard prequel era. there is a case for ARC's and N1's as they have been seen in new GW era canon materials, but Anakin is known as Darth Vader in this time period.

I'd put the queen as a unique with a lower PS than the generic royal guards.

with a stiff but extremely fast dial, that gets really good with a generic R2 astromech.

My dream

N-1: Rebel

V-wing: Scum and/or Imperial

Eta 2: Imperial

Reality I have no idea.

Even though it doesn't excite me the mining guild tie probably has a good chance as does the resistance transport.

It is spelled Kihraxz.

Unless I made a typo.

TIE Interceptor (Alt Paint from Rebels show)

Was released in Wave 3.

Actually no. The Rebels Interceptor didn't have blood strips. Just a red band on the wing tips and a red patch on the back. It was also grey.

I hope not the N-1. I also think it's more likely to see something from screen canon, then otherwise (especially considering the "Quack" Jumper), but who knows at this point.

I think some sort of aces packs are probably overdue for Scum and Rebels. Xs, Es, StarVipers, K-fighters, and Ys could all use love.

The quad jumper was notable for being a clearly-Scum craft they could claim had a tech slot. That's all it is.

Honestly, I hope for another most wanted, geared to giving scum the yt-1300 and yt-2400, and maybe some scum ships to the rebels.

Rebels/Imp expansion:

Cargo Class Shuttle, "Rogue One"

2 pilots for each faction. Standard ship that uses energy. Can contain K2-SO and everything we're missing from rogue one. I would be suprised if it doesn't happen, this is the ship in which the legend of Rogue Squadron started.

Rebels:

Phantom mk2. Obvious pick. Contains alternate phantom title that change the way it works when docked, probably for the way you actually want to undock it... because current attack shuttle rarely gets undocked.

Imps:

I hope for something from legends. Chiss Clawcraft, Gunboat, Tie Hunter?

Scum:

Maul's ship. Another easy pick. It's so obvious it hurts. (it's not too big. Hound's tooth and ghost made it into standard play.)

Rogue One is not the same as Rogue Squadron

No relation, in fact

The Skurrg bomber feels like a given, but for what side? Scum is laden with large hsips already.

FFG need to dip into new vectors for material because there is so very little appropriate stuff left in canon. The new comic series have some cool craft (like the racecraft from the recent Han-Solo book).

There's like 2 or 3 types of Khirazxzcxxz, a heavy type would be nice.

V - 19 for rebels? They could use a ship with a base cost of 17-18

More Tie variants! Aggressor! Hunter! Vanguard! Experimental MK 1! Jadis Class light Tie fighter! Predator! The sleek Unidentified Tie from the Force unleashed comic!

I'm really not so sure that's a "given". Development of it in 'Armada' would predate the Disney takeover (announced in March 2015, so likely in development late-2013 to 2014, while Disney did not fully take over all Lucasfilm-branded merchandising until some time during FY14).

IMHO, it's no more likely to be pulled into X-Wing from Armada than, say, the K-Wing or TIE: Punishest is to appear in Armada from X-Wing.

Rebellion's Finest: New two ship expansion for rebels featuring the Blue squadron variant T-65 and some sorta Y-wing.

Have the general and fixes to the ships.

You think this wave they'll finally introduce the ground to air combat most of us have been dreaming about?

With Rogue One heavily featuring CAS i think it's a possibility... who knows.

Being a former SWG guy, I wonder if we will see the Dunelizard or Kimogilla for Scum anytime soon. I realize they haven't appeared in canon sources yet, but if FFG I willing to repaint the Scyk from the same source why not?

Yeah, I'm really betting on the Nightbrother (Maul's ship) being the next scum ship. It would get Maul into the game, probably as pilot and crew. The other two named pilots could be Bo-Katan Kryze and either Gar Saxon or Pre Vizla to round it out.

I just really hope that the Gaunlet fighter works well with Fangs. Running them together would be awesome.

Imps: Gunboat or Tie Striker Transport

Rebs: Resistance Transport

Scum: Raven's Claw

Guys, the Nightbrother (Maul's ship) is huge. It is not a large ship, it's epic size.

Debatable. The canonical length of the Kom'rk is 10 meters shorter than the canon Gozanti length, and like 9 longer than the Ghost - but it's wide and spindly.

Also, when you factor in that epic ships are scaled differently than other ships, it may be that the Gauntlet Fighter would end up sized more like the other big ships rather than epic ships. And since it's already gonna be oddly sized, why not just bite the bullet and make it just a big based ship?

The main reason I don't think it should be epic sized is because the thing that tips the scales in that direction is the wings. The actual main body of the ship is still freighter sized.

FWIW, the 'small-ish' Epic-scale ships (Imperial Gozanti and the upcoming C-ROC Gozanti) are actually at the same 1/270 scale as the standard fighters. Only the GR75, CR90, and Imperial Raider drop a scale to ~1/350 or so.

I think with the new "Light Scyk Interceptor" interceptor there is no little need for the mining-guild pac-man tie fighter. Scum both have the z-95 and now the light scyk in that design space.
