Spend 2017 on scum epic, scum aces (khiraxz, starviper), rebel veterans (y wing, e wing), maybe a single wave with leftover rebels/ep7/rogue one material... And release a campaign, just like in Armada (new t65 equipment /pilots!).

And then, on December, they could release some new ep8-related new ships. I'd be totally happy with that.

Empire: If FFG weren't that tied to TIEs and mass produced uniform clean ships I could see some old imperial Arcs, all of them unique. Empire is also still thin on that front of slower, more sturdy ships. But probably it's not that fitting to f perceived faction identity (fat shuttles/Vts and lots fast nimble small stuff), and the TIE sf has a slightly similar role as the Arc170, and the forum was mostly negative to it.

In the same wane old V-wings, but here would also be the problem: what role could they fill, Empire has already tons of small glass ships.

Same on the Scum side, not really a place for the Vs.

What if Episode VIII is actually GORGEOUS & AWESOME (unlike TFA) and has new updated A-B-E & Y Wings (same for IMPS) and all new ships period?!?!?!

I am not expecting much EU stuff, except maybe for Scum & Villainy. With one episode and/or sidestep film being released I do expect FFG to turn out movie merchandise material.

To cover the time towards the next episode there is now the Scum&Villainy Epic with Scyk.

So what to expect for this year besides wave 11 and possibly wave 12? Rebel Veterans? Scum Veterans?

Considering what´s available and which ships need some help/buff and, last but not least, has been shown in the Rebels series and recent films:

Scum & Villainy

- Grey coloured Star Viper

- Black Sun colours Kyrhaxz

- Mining Guild TIE

Rebels:

- T-65 X-wing in Blue Squadron Colours

- T-65 X-wing in the colours of Saw Gerrera and his buddies

What to expect for Imperials:

- The large Mandalorian ship from Rebels (sorry, I do not know the name)

- An episode VIII TIE bomber

Personally I would love to see some droid fighters among the Scum & Villainy as some leftovers from the clonewars being hired out, try to make a stand somewhere without care for the civil war. Something like that

Anakin Skywalker (I mean he should be a pilot in some forum for the Rebels) and if you recall R2D2 was his droid, Leia Organa, Shara Bey, Queen of Naboo, it appeared in Episodes I and II, Return of the Jedi, the Clone Wars and Shattered Empire III. It's generics could be Naboo Royal Guards; if they wanted to add Obi-Wan the Delta Class 7 Interceptor would be a great idea

I feel like that's where ffg will lodically go to next in the game

It provides a nice way to fix some old ships while not tipping the balance of any of the factions

I'm going to guess it will be rogue squadron campaign for obvious reasons but I think most of the box will be some stuff focusing on the new canon

I'm going to guess we are going to get a bunch of blue squadron X-Wing a in the pack as well as maybe a Ahsoka tano crew and maybe the coveted rogue squadron title

The ships in the box will be not as existent

Maybe an X-Wing, an Interceptor, and a Starviper (if they want to keep scum in the game)

Along with a TON of cards and pilot cards for other ships

Now the real wave wave that comes next will either focus on so 8 or the new canon books

N1 starfighter is a good Rebel guess for Leia as well as maybe Greer Sonnel (if she's not included in the campaign)

Scum almost certainly will get a ship that will be flown by Hindi if he isn't already flying a ship in the epic pack. Maybe his old UFO type ship, but the Lady Luck Lando Scum is a good guess too

Empire is tough because they have some fun options

If i was a betting man that rogue one shuttle with Krennick, Thrawn, and some other rebels characters as crew would be a solid choice. But personally I'm hoping for an ep 8 ship new Tie

Kylo Rens Tie fighter has been hinted at as a real thing in the Ep8. So I expect that in 2017 for sure. Rumor is it kind of looks like an Avenger...

other Ep8 goodies I could see are a T85 and an A-Wing. I'm curious if we will ever see the B/Y ever again in the new trilogy? The T70 effectively replaced the "E-Wing" from becoming canon... as much as that saddens me.

probably the N1, as it's been in the comics a bit, with a Leia pilot would be a great way to pay homage to our #1 Princess.

I would love to see an expansion that puts rebel pilots in the proper ships... ie:

Corran in an X-Wing

Shara Bey in a A-Wing

Norra in a Y-Wing

Thane in an X-Wing.... etc. etc.

Probably will see another ship for Sabine to pilot.

T65 X-Wing fix....in the form of Thane, General Merrick, Jaldine Gerams, Blue Squadron Ace, Blue Squadron Veteran. plus upgrades... like a no cost torpedo? no flappy wings please. Maybe a "sloop" title would be fun...using hard turns instead!

I actually think we may possibly start seeing re-releases with "new" pilots being added to old ships. Like a Y-Wing II (with Norra and maybe some madeup Rouge pilots for example)

Yes, seen those. Same with rumors of Kylo Ren's TIE (being some kind of homage to Vader's TIE in appearance, apparently).

I think those are good candidates for wave 12, but those aren't going to be able to be even announced before summer - for release just before/around when the movie comes out about a year away.

Wave 11 should be getting announced probably later-Jan or February, some time, for summer release. It will definitely not include any Episode VIII material (such information still well under embargo).

I don't think that there will be anything not direct from canon released again. It doesn't fit the marketing model for everything being a tie-in to the original IP.

Well, "on-screen canon", that'd be close to* correct. The ARC-170 was prequel-era, of course, but yeah - still something seen on-screen.

* There was a bit of a transition that we can assume to be a result of finishing products already in the pipeline - although Scum might have pushed beyond even that. IE., the Mist Hunter and Punisher have not been seen on-screen, for example, and were in wave 8 (announced late summer 2015). The Empire and Rebel factions haven't seen something that wasn't on-screen since wave 7 (announced spring 2015).

That does seem to be the direction FFG is going, at this point, although...well, per the OP, unless the Empire becomes "the shuttle faction", they don't have a lot of new fighter-type choices (until Episode VIII hits, when they'll get a couple more).

Also the N-1 had the greatest pilot in the galaxy in it at one time Anakin Skywalker I believe the N-1 would be a huge opportunity in that Anakin and Leia could be added as pilots; furthermore REBELS should get an Anakin and or Obi-Wan pilot card as they both flew Jedi Starfighters
