So now the question is how will this be added into the tournament roster. Will there be a separate section for the sideboard on the roster to prove you have the card to equip. Do you have to have the <illicit> upgrade card you plan to replace or can you just proxy it? Will the other factions be able to have a sideboard too?

Tournament roster doesn't need a change. You jsut bring with any other illicits you own that you might want to use and have them available to swap in as needed. Proxies still won't be allowed.

And it's not any Illicit card, it has to be of equal or lower value.

Can you proxy anything in a tournament now? What makes you think this will be any different?

Will the other factions be able to have a sideboard too?

Do the other factions have any mechanics that allow them to swap out cards? If so, then yes! If not, then no!

Not trying to be harsh, but it sounds like you are stretching to make a problem that doesn't exist.

Tournament organisers should address it as courtesy, but I don't think there is going to be any controversy about this.

You cpuld literally pull the card out of your ass so long as it matches the restrictions of the ability

As for proxies people still bring the cards but also the roster is often on a sheet from squad builder. There is also the roster you submit during tournaments. Anyways this is the first time you can pull in cards you have that are not on your roster. So yeah X-wing now has a sideboard mechanic. So far it appears to be scum only but could it Rebels and Imperials begin to replace upgrade cards as well?

Why make people track it. It's just an extra piece of paperwork and one more thing that might have an error that causes a stink later in a tournament.

Other than not having a card, is there any reason that someone wouldn't list every card eligible if they had to add it to their squad lists? If there's not, there's no reason to track it.
