Aside from the higher PS and ignoring obstacles, why not save 2 points and fly Super Leebo?
Super Leebo?
Because in the Outrider's case the pilot skill matters, if you're going with the Heavy Laser Cannon build. You need to go as late as possible to keep things out of the donut. Dash's PS7 is better for that(keeps you above Palp Defenders, for instance) than Leebo's 5, though both are still going to potentially get caught by higher PS aces. Ignoring obstacles during activation on a PTL large base with boost (assuming you're taking Engine Upgrade) and barrel roll is also nothing to scoff at.
Let us know how that works for you.
If you're going to ignore Dash's ability and PS, then yes, it makes sense to take a cheaper pilot with an ability... I don't understand the question.
If you want a "cheaper" Super Dash I'd recommend trying this out
Dash Rendar - 52 pts
-Lone Wolf
-Rey
-Outrider
-HLC
If you have the extra points leftover, throw in Smuggling Compartment and Burnout Slam for that "get outta bad spot" maneuver that can come up maybe once per game.
A guy at a recent tournament ran leebo with mangler title rage and inspiring recruit. He had Kannan on another ship to open leebo's dial. He did well overall and leebo worked built that way but I think he would have been better off just using Raging Chewie.
I think Leebo would do fine against the low PS ships and with boost/BR should still Be able to keep range 2-3. I could see how in a tournament setting, High PS aces could give you trouble but I think for my purposes (friendly games) he should be fine.
