New in X-wing

By tarquimis, in X-Wing Squad Lists

Hello everyone.

This Christmas I have given the X-wing starter pack with luke and an A-wing, and I bought the heroes pack of resistance.
I am a warhammer fantasy player, and I would like to start in x-wing, looking for something competitive to not buy crazy things that you do not use later.
So I ask for help to make a viable list to play and that includes few purchases. For example I would like to play the Millennium Falcon and I would need letters as expertise, which I will try to buy.
Any help to make a decent list and future purchases will be welcome.
And finally sorry for my English.
Greetings and thank you

This squad may not be super-competitive, but i think it should be good enough. Doesn't require any purchases of you.

Closes at 99 points. You have regen and two tanks. Poe can push the limit every turn to make max use of r2-d2. This list could use some new cards, but i would check it out first. It looks fun. Use MF title to make best use of Rey's ability, keep in arc, use Finn and then reroll the blanks. It's pretty straightforward.

Thank you very much for your help. Soon I will start my first game and we will see how it is given to me;).

I have been watching some games and I liked the letter of expertise in Rey and the Miranda ship. Also this last one does not seem very expensive since it brings almost all the necessary improvements.
How would you combine those two ships?
Thanks again.

I wouldn't advice k-wing for begginer. To make max use of it you have to optimize your use of bombs and SLAM mechanic and it's not easy even for better players. You should focus on mastering the basic mechanics first. Expertise on Rey is nice, but it requires buying u-wing and rearranging this build a little, which leads to more purchases. (It works better with gunner crew on board) And you have your ways of modifying dice anyway. Rerolls with finn and focus are enough usually, expertise is kind of overkill in my opinion. You will never target lock with rey, which leads to taking focus, and you will rarely have to use more than one focus a turn. For a ept for rey, i find veteran instincts better.

To be fair, basic miranda is quite easy to play: miranda tlt advanced slam (c3p0) gives fairly consistent damage output and if you feel like your going to be shot, slam and take a target lock for next turn. The turret primary weapon and tlt make shooting easy and the dial is very nice for beginners
