Jabba's Realm Ally Packs Content and Skirmish Missions

By Tvboy, in Star Wars: Imperial Assault

For anyone that's curious. I think almost all the cards have been spoiled, but here are the contents of each pack and the included skirmish maps and missions. My prediction is that the Luke map will be the next tournament map when Leia's map rotates out.

Luke Skirmish Map - Dune Sea

Luke Card Contents

Alliance Rangers Skirmish Map - Nal Hutta Swamps

Alliance Rangers Card Contents

Captain Terro Skirmish Map - Endor Defense Station

Captain Terro Card Contents

Jabba Skirmish Map - Jabba's Palace

Jabba Card Contents

I don't like the Jabba's Palace missions at all. The wording and special rules are terrible. (can anyone think of a reason why those neutral mission tokens even exist?) EDIT: Disregard, I completely misread the mission card.
The Jabba's Palace missions are pretty good.

The Nal Hutta Swamps is a cool map and has good missions but probably far too open to be in the rotation. It would screw with list building too much. Melee figures would be used even less.

Luke's Dune Sea map is small and the missions are boring, but I could see it being a tournament map.

Personally I hope that it's the Endor Defense Station. It's an interesting map, with fairly interesting missions and 3 terminals which could be fun.

The neutral mission tokens represent a trap door to the rancor pit. I wish the rancor pit was set off to the side of the map as a standalone place, rather than at the bottom of the map, and had rules for coming back up into jabba's palace main floor but it's kind of interesting at least. I wish there was a neutral rancor in the pit with rules for it to go on a rampage :)

The rangers map looks really interesting to me just because it's so wide open. I feel like snipers could have a hey day there!

Seems they have been going with the pattern of one skirmish map per faction and including an ally pack with the latest expansions tiles. So when Leia rotates out, following the pattern would be either Dune Sea or Nal Hutta Swamps, and like you said Nal Hutta Swamps is way too big for tournament play.

This hasn't always been the pattern though, so maybe they do break it.

Luke's missions are the cleanest. The map is pretty straightforward, so if the new map is from this wave, it will probably be this one.

The ranger one is way too big (longer setup time) and the power generator control mission is iffy.

On Terri's map, Renovation seems pretty meh. It is an interesting map and is similar in size to the map leaving rotation, and the missions are also similar (crate mission and control mission, Luke's map also has both)

Jabba's missions are weird and I also miss the Rancor in the pit... Or some effect causing damage. It is a cool layout with nice potential, but the missions ruin this map. Could have been awesome...

Edit: actually, I missed the tokens in the Rancor pit. It actually makes the map interesting. Still miss the Rancor and I don't think this will be a tournament mission, but it does look like fun after all..

Ha... I totally misread that the neutral mission token rules. I assumed it moved the mission token .... Makes so much more sense now.

In that case, I kind of take it back.... the Jabba missions aren't that bad. I like the idea of teleporting to the other side of the map for 1 strain.

Actually.... I swear that my mission card has different text. I have no idea how I misread that so badly.

What is that the Luke insert says about time periods?

I cannot read all of it on the picture, and haven't arrived here yet, but I'm pretty sure that it is just a long-winded way of saying that there are none for him (as also seen on his side mission).

Played on Jedi Luke's map yesterday, and I can report that the deployment zones are still pretty unbalanced, with the Sarlacc tile right outside of a deployment zone that severely inhibits deployment options, and it is loaded with awkward difficult and impassable terrain. Additionally, one of the objectives is a "Considered to have additional VP" set, which they haven't used before and is especially confusing now that Jabba can spend VP. Can he spend VP you are only "Considered to have"?

Endor Defense... little foreshadowing? :D

Maybe- or, maybe they're just getting it out of the way. After all, we already got the Rangers with this pack. I guess there's always the possibility that this is our ROTJ box, and we're not getting any other Endor stuff. Unlikely, but I guess it's possible.

I am thinking they did the Rangers with this pack because the ally packs for the Endor box will be ewoks :D

And Rangers + Ewoks would be to much for one (potentially small) box for the Rebels.

This was discussed in another thread. You can spend VP you actually have.

Why the wording "considered to have" (for the purposes of winning condition) if it were the same as actually having?

With that interpretation in mind I scored that objective as adding or subtracting my VP when appropriate.

It sounds like I'll have to keep a separate points tracker for "considered to have" instead. A bit annoying but much more specific.

Hey guys, I am about to order the Jabba's Realm expansion, and I would like to know which Villain packs I shall buy extra to have all miniatures to play all campaign missions?
