Need help with some in-game situation

Hi all, one little question - when heavy raider enters the area where it boards the ship, does this happen immediately, or in the next turn?

Thanks!

Could you rephrase your question? The heavy raider has to get to a position with a launch bay (either one of the locations below Galactica) and then activate again to have a Centurion board the ship.

Example: There is a Heavy Raider behind Galactica. Heavy Raiders activate and it moves to the bottom right of the board. No Centurion would board yet. If Heavy Raiders were activated again, a Centurion would board the ship immediately when it activates.

Thanks, you answered my question precisely - no need to rephrase.

One more question - when you use Action on your skill card, do you discard that card? Because there is NOT a single line on the card or in manual that would imply it. On Quorum card it is stated clearly - USE and DISCARD. But skill card?

Thanks again!

Hi Decimus,

if you play the ability of a skill card, then you have to discard that card!

Can anyone answer my question about Helo? :

Another one question about Helo!

What about his special ability? I know he can choose to have another dice roll during his turn, but he can have it only one time per turn or one time per occasion? For example: if the riders are activated during his turn and he have to roll the dice to attack a viper, can he roll the dice a second time time for any attack? Or if he plays Maximum Firepower, can he roll the dice a second time for each attack? Or again, roll the dice another time to launch a scout and then roll the dice a second time to overcome a crisis?

Once per turn, he can say "reroll that die".

If there are 6 raiders shooting during Helo's turn, he could (if he hasn't already used his reroll that turn) reroll one of their attacks.

Maximum Firepower is 4 die rolls, so if somebody is under the influence of Maximum Firepower on Helo's turn, he can only reroll one of the attacks, not all 4.

If he uses his reroll on Launch Scout, his reroll won't be available during the crisis step of that turn, since he's already used it.

Other important notes on this ability:

  • If someone uses an Executive Order to give Helo an action, Helo can't use his reroll on that action, since it's not Helo's turn.
  • If you use a Strategic Planning on a die roll to increase its result by 2, and Helo rerolls the die, the Strategic Planning also applies to the reroll.

I had to go look, because I was sure you must have missed something. But you are actually correct, there's nothing in the rulebook that tells you to discard played cards. However, there's also nothing implying that a played card would go back into your hand.

Played cards are placed in the discard pile unless you are explicitly told otherwise by the card itself. (The game would be trivially easy for the humans otherwise.)

Another two questions:

  1. If the president is in the brig, can he use the Presidential Pardon quorum card on himself?
  2. There's a crisis card that let you choose to have no effect and return to the "crisis" step (dealing another crisis card) after the resolution of the "cylon ships" step and the "prepare for jump" step. If a cylon draw that card from Caprica, can he choose to deal another crisis card (without activating cylon ships and the jump step)?

1. No, I believe the card says "another player", indicating a non-president prisoner.

2. Yes. If my memory serves, it is 'current player chooses', and a revealed can resolve one crisis off the top of the deck (though there are no activate cylon ships or jump prep steps).

Here I am, again, with a question about a Pegasus Quorum card: CONSULT THE ORACLE.

This card says: "Action: Look at the bottom card of any 1 deck. Then look at all cards in the Destiny deck and discard 2 of them....."

Ok my question is: do I have to look at the bottom card af all the decks in the game? Including skill card decks, crisis card deck and destination deck?

It says to look at the bottom card of *one* deck (as you typed yourself), so it's just the one deck you look at.

If your question is actually "CAN I look at the bottom of ANY of the decks in the game?", then yes - any deck is valid (even the loyalty deck, pre-sleeper phase, as far as I'm aware).

Thanks a lot! This is very helpful!

Have a question about loyalty cards.

Example: Before the Sleeper phase a player looks at my loyalty card (not a cylon) because of the effect of a crisis card. Then comes the sleeper phase and I receive a "you are a cylon" loyalty card. Later, another crisi effect let the current player to look at one of my loyalty cards...does he have to know which of the two was the first card I've got? Or can I shuffle them?

You can and should shuffle them, even if both say you are human. The game is about keeping the suspense and secrecy.

It's random, neither he nor you are allowed to pick the one you received during the sleeper phase.

According to the unofficial FAQ, Corey of FFG in another thread said that the Loyalty and Agenda decks can not be looked at with "Consult the Oracle".

This has been a really fun thread to read! I must say, there is enough confusion over the rules for ENGLISH edition, I can hardly fault the translators who miss the nuances!
