What happened to Squadron Benchmark

Here's an easy one for you:

A little more information is needed. Not sure what I'm looking at.

I can barely read the first set of green dice, so I took a screen capture and darkened them twice. I know color codes are easy to change. I only darkened the green and yet it appears the red and green match better. I'm asking if you would make the green dice more readable by darkening them. Thanks.

I'm not sure if it's been noted (or even played...) but Roark Garnet (in the HWK) gives a permanent increase to PS 12. Running chrome.

Thanks Ynot for the amazing work. I love squadron benchmark, despite its minor flaws..

Ah ok. I'll see what I can do.

Sorry if this has been asked but I am not going to read 10 pages to find out. Is there a plan to put the wave 10 ships in?

Just a nice to do thing, definitely not any sort of a priority, but it has always bugged me that carnor jax and other royal guard pilots are shown piloting a grey interceptor and not a crimson one. I wouldn't even think about it except that the defenders (like ryad) do fly the proper color

This has been corrected.

We could make this into a fun game: Spot the error...

The splash damage from Kenkirk's Ruthlessness should not have gone to Kath Scarlet when both the A-wing and Y-wing were range 1 of Poe.

Oops, I have both version bookmarked in the same folder, so I think this was Denis' version, but you use his as a base so perhaps...

Just tried the programme after seeing this thread. Really super for practising.

I did seem to have a problem with pilot 4-lom in a g1a. I equipped tractor beam and title, but it did not add barrel roll to the actions. And I could not seem to pass a stress from 4-lom, but this might be because I didn't know how to do it.

Thanks ynot for your work on this

Probably a glitch. It's possible to manually simulate abilities that add/remove tokens from various ships.
alt+1 gives the selected ship a focus token.
alt+shift+1 removes a focus token from the ship.
The operational number for 4-LOM is 4 (heh), so remove one from 4-LOM manually and give it to an enemy until the glitch is fixed.

Well, for starters, you put marksmanship on Poe...
Then there's Gemmer with A-Wing test pilot but no EPT. Also Ion pulse missiles - really?
That Tempest squadron pilot is all out of position.
Oh, and the Y-wing doesn't have a TLT.

Wait, what's this about ruthlessness?

First thing wrong is your not using the app I forked. You're using the old one that hasn't been fixed and won't be fixed.

You're using the wrong version. I forked it as I can't take over the original.

https://ynot6517.github.io/bench/

Attached a screenshot. It shows three Falcons, almost nose to nose to nose (was messing around with a Fortress), two Rey's, one on each side, and one Resistance Sympathizer. The Sympathizer is attacking the Enemy Rey. Sympathizer is carrying C-3PO, Rey is not, but when the Symp attacks, it gave me the prompt to guess a number of evades for Threepio, even though the defender did not have Threepio, the attacker did. This is visible in the console at the bottom. 589757225cea0_threefalconsbenchmark.thumb.jpg.86ccf058482d6fe7083c6688817f20cd.jpg

Chrome (newest update I believe), on Windows, Benchmark version 0.9.6.

I've seen significant improvements over the original version, truly fantastic job. Here are some to look into:

- When I was using C-3PO on Miranda a few days ago, it never gave me the option to skip guessing. Normally it's not that big of a deal, but when a TLT is shooting at me and rolls three hits I'm not going to try guessing with C-3PO.
- Speaking of TLT's, still sometimes skips the second shot. It's not crashing on me anymore though.
- After I'm done with a game, I have to close out the tab it's running in if I want to start a new game. Otherwise, it keeps the old squads and will simply add new ships to it instead of replacing.
- Lastly, it still likes to not end games after the last ship has been destroyed. This makes it impossible to catch a replay and post it on here for everyone to review.

So you're saying that's one of the things you fixed after you copied Denis' version?

Well dumbo, first of all that's not my build, I'm testing things against it. Second of all, on that version it's a glitch that not all the upgrades show up. Thirdly, this thread isn't about builds, but program glitches, so get your head out of your ass and find the right thread.

I wasn't trying to come off as insulting. My original comment was half-humour, half-serious (justified considering your "we could make this into a fun game" statement). I was aware of the glitch (Crack +Juke A-wings didn't fly...), so I figured this was the glitch you were referring to.

An unrelated post? In a forum? Unthinkable!

Seriously though, 64.7% of my post was relevant to the topic and informative (by word count), so I'm good.

I'll gladly look into it if you can reproduce it in my version as I have fixed a large number of bugs. Also, just a simple explanation as I don't have the time to play "spot the difference" for bugs. I've had enough to do to figure out how he did this in the first place and how I'm going to add in all the new ships and conditions so making it easier for me when reporting bugs will mean it may get corrected sooner.

Okay, "seriously though," 120 point vs 120 point battle, and they are not hyper-efficient top-level-meta tournament winning builds that we were looking for feed back on. They were fun casual ideas that didn't need anyone's correcting. As long as you're having fun telling us what to play unsolicited, so that we win worlds this year, then I guess it's okay. *sarc*

Sorry I just thought it was an amusing glitch. I'll write them in binary code from now on. *wink*

But really, I'll try Ruthlessness on a few more ships later and see if anything comes up.

That's the old buggy app that I have no access to. You can find the new forked version here https://ynot6517.github.io/bench/

I've seen this with Dengar. I'll have to look at the C-3P0 code.

Haha, sorry. I kept typing "x wing benchmark" into google and got directed there :D

Thank you!

thanks for taking this over ynot! I really liked this app before and It's way better now. Keep up the good work!

One suggestion I have if it's not too hard to implement.

The part I hate most is setup especially the obstacles. Could there be a way where you select the 3 for each side and then have the AI randomly place them on the board? With correct ranges between them of course.

or even just have them start in the same position each time and can be moved as part of setup but I'm 100% with you, I love using this tool but really don't love asteroid placement :)

Well, on the contrary I find asteroid placement fascinating - it is mini game in itself, many times different placement changed the outcome of my testing games completely.

so, having them auto-placed for people like me that are ambivalent to it in most games but still movable for those like you who DO want to move them would work beautifully? I love it!

Jokes aside, I don't disagree about trying out "placement for effect" but given how crappy the AI is, navigating rocks doesn't provide the same challenge as it would with a real player.

love this tool, thanks again, Ynot!
